For Today...September 30 09

For Today...September 30 09

Outside my window... The sky is blue and very few clouds. I can watch the jets as they climb into the sky from the Memphis airport.

I am thinking... It's time I get up from here and do something

I am thankful for... This weather that is so nice. I'm gong to take the dogs out and read in my book for a bit as soon as I finish filling this in.

From the kitchen... Not cooking today. I need something to cook with, so we will eat out tonight. I will cook tomorrow night because Jerry hates to miss survivor. We will pick up something tonight

I am wearing... Dark grey sweatpants and a blouse with tiny flowers on it

I am reading... 92 Pacific blulevard

I am hoping... Jerry can tell me if Friday is his last day or not.

I am creating... Not working on anything today, because I hate to start something only to have to put it up for a while

I am hearing... the jets taking off, the owners steam cleaning the lower rooms' floors and some stupid movie on the tv. changing channels.

Around the house... I've done the dishes up, cleaned the bathroom and made the bed. That's the daily basics

One of my favorite things... is watching the dogs roll in the grass. Macon really loves to roll and he's so funny when he does it.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Not got any, yet. My Birthday is Sunday and I don't know what we are going to do, because I don't know if Jerry is going to have to work or not.

For Today... September 29, 2009

For Today... September 29, 2009
Outside my window... The sky is blue and some light hight clouds and the tempature is a very pleasant 72 degrees.

I am thinking... My allergies are kicking up and the Benadril I took is making me sleepy. Fighting the sleeping monster.

I am thankful for... Being able to stay home, even if "Home" is a motel room and sleep in, if I want to. Thankful that Jerry loves his work and does not resent my not working. With his job like it is now, I would not be able to travel with him, if I had a job.
From the kitchen... I picked up a pound of ground Beef. I need to make something with it, for dinner tonight. I will cut some fresh vegetables to go with it. An apple for dessert.

I am wearing... grey sweat pants and a printed top that has Eeyor on it.
I am reading... emails, Plan on taking a book outside this afternoon while laundry is going. still reading 92 pacific Blvd.
I am hoping... That Jerry gets the lay off on Thurs day so that he can find a new job on Friday so we can be at that job on Monday.
I am creating... I found a simple compass rose I can use for the quilt top I want to make. I need to finish the unicorn block first.

I am hearing... Y&R on the TV. and traffic outside as I have to door open and the dogs in their kennels

Around the house... I need to vacumn the floors again and do laundry.

One of my favorite things... Is the smell of fresh cut grass. The grass got cut around here yesterday. It was very high and that is what kicked up my allergies but oh, it's so worth it.
A few plans for the rest of the week...
pre packing for a move
Dinner was a home made version of Beefy Rice a Roni

home made beefy rice a roni
A take of the national brand of my own doing.
1 lb groud beef, rolled into meatballs and browned in skillet, removed and fat drained out of the skillet

1/4 cup brown rice with 3/4 cup white rice browned in 2 tablespoon margine,,after browning the rice a bit, add enough spegettie for 2 people broken up into smaller pieces,

For Today... September 28 09

For Today... September 28 09

Outside my window... the sky is blue with some high white clouds, Pleasant and cool.

I am thinking... I should take my book outside this afternoon and read in it, a bit.

I am thankful for... Today's weather. And that Jerry hasn't called yet, it means he's still working.

From the kitchen... I'll not be cooking today. We need grocies and Jerry said we would eat out first.

I am wearing...jean shorts and a blue top

I am reading... 92 pacific Blvd.

I am hoping... That Jerry's job is not over this week, but if it is, we go someplace we can enjoy being outside more.

I am creating... I am looking for a Compass Rose to add to my quilt top I want to make for Jerry.

I am hearing... The noon news on the tv and the grass being mowed. It's been a long time with all the rain we had and the dogs don't like getting in it when it's this high. I hope the man can jump over the little dog piles.

Around the house... I've done half of the laundry and the dishes.

One of my favorite things... Is watching Y&R, but I think it would be very wrong for Victor to get Collens' heart.

A few plans for the rest of the week... I need to sort Jerry's suitcase for him and clear off the rest of that bed. then consider packing up the things of the kitchen.

Nearing the end of the job

Jerry's job is about to end. We will know for sure by the end of this next week. There are rumors of jobs out there, One in West Point VA. now he says it's only for a couple of weeks. Not really worth the 14 hour plus drive to get there, find a motel and then just turn around and leave again. We will just have to see what is out there, at the end of this job. Jerry said most likely it will be Friday. I hope that the next motel we get a ground floor. this climbling stairs is really making my knees and back hurt by the end of the day. It's not the dogs fault, they have to "go" and I'm slow walking down the stairs and they really need to "go" badly. Macon is still pup enough that he's sprinkling on his way to the stairs sometimes. As soon as we hit grass he's letting it all fly. He's still not lifting his leg, either.

We have our winter cloths with us. I read my brother's blog where he's winter ready. We are just thinking about it, now. I may need a light jacket in the morning when I walk the dogs tomorrow.

Happy 21st Birthday, Beth

Today is my youngest child's 21st birthday. She's been looking forward to this day for a long, long time. Now I am offically "OLD". Where did the time go? Where is that time of snuggles and hugs? I am sure that my Baby she will always be. But she on her own, now. Doing very well for herself.

I recall Carol Burnette singing this song on her show, long ago.

Where are you goin' my little one, little one?
Where are you goin' my baby my own?
Turn around and you're two
Turn around and you're four
Turn around and you're a young girl
Going out the door

<>

Turn around
Turn around
Turn around and you're a young girl
Going out of the door
(Turn around and you're a young wife
With babes of your own)

Where are you goin' my little one, little one?
Little dirndles and petticoats, where have you gone?
Turn around and you're tiny
Turn around and you're grown
Turn around and you're a young wifeWith babes of your own

<>

Where are you goin' my little one, little one?
Where are you goin' my baby my own?

Beth isn't a Mom, yet. She's still looking for a boy friend, even. I am not so sure I'm ready for her to be a Mom, that would mean I'm really old, then.

Memphis TN

We have been here a month, now. Been driving around. Went past Graceland. Can't believe how much they want a person to pay, just to look around. $30 is a bit too much.

We went to Beale Street this weekend. We have had a week of rain, and we didn't stop the first time. We went back today, and walked 6 blocks. 3 down and 3 back up. We stopped and picked up some post cards. I saw a cookbook, but didn't want to pay $5.00 for a book only half full of recipes. the back of each page was empty so you could write your own recipe into it.

We did stop to read the street side history markers. Very intresting what all happend in Memphis back in the early part of the 1900's.
We went into the "Hard Rock" cafe, but didn't eat there. It didn't look like much, to us. (Sorry) We walked back up the street and ate at the Beale Street Blues Cafe. We had Catfish, with Steak Fries and cole slaw. The slaw was not much at all. No flavor to it. The catfish was good. It all came to the table hot, Piping Hot.

The rain has finally stopped, but none of the museums are open here on Mondays. Since we don't know if Jerry will be working tomorrow or not, we don't make any plans. I hope he works. but there is a chance that this job is over with as well. There is some problem with permits and I don't know the whole story, but it's meant that Jerry has had 4 days off work, three of them full pay and one he still got his per diem for.

While doing a search for "something" to do, I found out that there is a Putt Putt gold center here in town. That is where we headed first. We did good to get our game in before the rain started back up. We love playing mini golf.

The dogs don't like the rain much and hate being stuck in the room all the time as well. Taking them out between the worst of the rain is intresting. When it did dry up some. I let them play for a while but they didn't like the wet grass much.

un-offically Fall

I wish someone would tell the weather that it's un-offically Fall. We are back in the 90's again. Jerry ended up taking Sunday off. I call it a mental Health day. If his boss would have asked, Jerry was prepared to tell him he had heart problems. He didn't have the heart to go in, that day. From looks of things, his next day off may be Monday. There is something being installed this weekend while the plant isn't on full service that all the electrictions need to be there for. I would rather he have a weekday off any way. We can get more done that way. Of course, I'll try to have all the mondain stuff like shopping and laundry done so we can go and relax or sight see, what ever it is Jerry wants to do.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend. Jerry has to Labor all weekend long. I don't know what all I'll be doing. I do need the van at least one day, so I can do the laundry. Jerry "should" have next Sunday off. With a shut down, he's working 11 1/2 hours a day, 13 days on, one day off. I want to do some shopping while I have the van. There are a couple of Malls close by, that I can get to. As well as many small shopping centers. Not that I'll have a lot of money to work with, but a little. I am in a swap for Fall and want to see what's out there, before I decide just what will go into the box.

Kelly Kat decided that he didn't want to be on the road any more and stayed at Heather's house. He got out of the van through a window I was sure was rolled up enough that he couldn't get out. Oh well. Heather will keep an eye out for him. I do miss him from time to time.

Macon and Rocky are keeping me busy. I have to walk them at least every three hours. I can't seem to convience them that if they can sleep all night long without going out that they can go for more than three hours during the day. Macon still can't seem to hold on long enough to make it to the grass. At least we have a door to the outside and he's trying his best. Most times it's while we are walking the back side of this motel and no one is in the rooms back there. Rain washes it off. We did have some rain today.

The trees here are still very green. There are a couple of trees out back that are turning a yellow. I'm not sure if it's because of season change or because we havn't had much rain in the last couple of weeks.

Got to go, Jerry just called, he's on his way home from work, we need to go get his check cashed and we will eat out, tonight.
