Jerry is an Electriction, not a plumber

Jerry is an Electriction, not a plumber
But that didn't stop him from fixing a leak we had in the bathroom. WE may still have a drip but thats a different problem from the leak we had. It took three trips to the hardware store to get the right fitting but he did get it fixed. Next is, there is a plug blade in the light fixture back there that prevents me from pluging in the fan and aiming it at the floor to dry it. I didn't find out until after he left for work this morning. I'll ask him to remove it and check out that outlet, before I use it. I have to also ask him, Where did he put the small heater I had in the floor. It also has a fan to it and I could aim it at the floor, if I knew where it was.
We are having a bit of a problem between us. Notthing seriouse, really. I just don't want to feel HOT. So I just run the air conditioning enough to not sweat.. But,When he gets in from work, and I understand, really I do, that he's been working in the Sun all day long, he wants it like an ice box in here. Or really more like the freezer door has been open all day long. He wants it COLD in here. I have to ask him to bring me a blanket when we settel down for the night on the small couch. Once I get down on the couch, it's hard for me to get up, and it's after I have I sat that it gets cold in here. He's more that willing to get up and get me a cover, if it keeps me from asking him to turn the air to where it's warmer in here.
Usually, as soon as he's out the door, I change from Air to Fan.. about an hour later, if the fog has lifted, I will turn it off, open all the windows that I can get to, and the overhead vents as well. I do remember my school science that heat raises. So they are the last thing I close, later in the day, when I do turn on the air conditoniong.
I hasve one small fan that I sit on the floor and blow on me during the day, But once Jerry's home, he's sitting in front of it and I don't get any of the moving air. I'm going to move it, before he gets home tonight and see if he'll leave it where it's at.
We have TV. The cable was run a few weeks ago, The system turned on the weekend before last. Still no WiFi, yet. But we are suppose to have that soon. Don't know if it will be free or not, yet.. I like the sprint air thing, but it's slower than dial up and I can't seen to get Kodak Pictures to come in on it well, nor can I watch any YouTube video's. I'm saving them in a special folder to look at later, when we get better service. At least I hope they are saved.

Tonight we will have Grilled Chicken. I will either cook it outside on the propane grill or inside on the Forman grill, if it's raining. I plan on making up a huge batch of rice, so that I can portion it out in meal size portions and just microwave what we need per meal, freezing the rest.
I think I"ll ask Jerry for at least one of the unbrellas out of the van. I keep forgetting to pick one up. To use for shade while I cook outside on the table. A pop up (Easy UP) canapy would be nice, but so far, I haven't found one we can afford. Found some at Lowes, but yikes the price. Course, I could try to make a frame out of conduit or pvc, and stretch a tarp over it. But in the long run that would cost just as much, I think.

We are moved in

We are moved in. I have even cook a meal.

We have lots of boxes still in storage and most will stay there, until the next move to the next job.. And other things as well. Like our suitcases. they are the very large, roll around type. I know it's not a good plan to visit the storage each week, but it's something we are doing. I can "plan" on putting our winter clothes into those suitcases so I know just where they are, when we need them. Winter coats are in a bag already. I have some glass dishes that I will not be using in the camper, At least not yet. And then, there is the Christmas Tree.. at almost 6 foot tall it will never fit in here. Jerry said we may set it up outside.. I'm thinking more along the lines of giving it to Heather if she wants a new tree.

My meal that I cooked... was Hamburgers. Jerry's favorite. Nothing special to that.. Just took some burger meat and mushed it into a patty, then seasoned with a seasoning blend I have on hand. Cooking it in the Electric skillet. I also fixed up a salad each. Just bagged precut garden salad and I added a small tomato to each and 1/4th of a green pepper. Jerry had watermelon when we got back from laundry and showers, while I had some cut up mixed fruit. Breakfast was in the same skillet... the sausage came out good, I guess. Jerry didn't say. The hash browned potatoes were on the light side, but they were sticking and I was getting frustrated with it.. and the eggs.. both yolks broke. I have to find my cast iron skillets. I know we have them with us, I just don't know where in storage they are, yet.

Tonight I'm going to fix a ham steak, I found one package of mashed potatoes that I'll make up.. I had wanted those for some potato bread, but the bread maker is still in storage. I'll fix another salad, of course. I'm not sure on dessert, yet.

We have no plans for this upcoming weekend. Looks like it may be a three day weekend for Jerry.. That would be nice. Don't know what we will do, besides eat meals and hang out together. Much as I would like to go someplace, we have no place to go. I can just imange taking the mattrisses of the beds. tossing them into the van, a few items of food and such as we would need to camp out and heading to the woods or the beach. But I don't think that will happen.. I think we may have lost some of our spontanaty somewhere along the way. Back , way back... our first year of marrage. we would do just that. Toss a few things into the staton wagon and head to the local state park for an overnighter. But I have to admit.. I no longer "enjoy" sleeping on the ground. Even with a nice thick piece of foam, I sitll hurt in the mornings when I wake up. And then to crouch over an open fire, coaxing it to cook up pancakes and eggs.... I'd almost rather eat at Waffle House. Now A Days I'd just as much go find a mall to walk, or a flea market to wonder through.

From Last weeks heat to the weekends rain to today has been a huge difference. Last week this camper was so warm that I thought we had made a big mistake.. maybe not.. We had lots of rain over the weekend and that helped settle the dust around here.. Yesterday, I figured out how to open the rooftop vents and the windows. As long as we have a breeze, it's nice in here, Will be nicer yet, if we can get a cover over the top to keep the sun from baking us.. What can I say, its still a tin can on wheels. I may go to the seconds at the local hardware stores and see if they have any paint I like. I would love to change the color in here. The red countertops is one thing.. the darkish Adobe color is just too much.. It needs some color in here. I don't see a place to put curtains up with the blinds. One blind is broken and I will have to replace it.. A string is broken in it.

With no TV I struggle with myself and the silence. I can play the radio but it's not the same.. and I cal play music on this computer but, again, it's not the same. I have not liked the silence since we had a fire back in 97. The daytime noise is what I miss. The talk on the tv. Keeping up with the news, My "Stories" Morning shows, afternoon shows.. They fill my day with noise, and now... I don't have that going on around me... what do I hear, right now??? a back up beeper on a truck somewhere. A fly bussing about, a Hawk, and a couple of other birds I can no longer identify. A crow. A train whistle. The wind blowing the trees across the way make them clack together at times. And I can hear the gravel under car tires as people drive down, turn around and drive back.

We are doing much better

I know, a few weeks ago I posted how we were not having any luck at all... A total change around. We have found an RV that suits our needs. It's a bit old, but then so are we (joke) It's a 78 Airstream. Yes... a silver bullet to pull behind our canary yellow van. The insides are in need of attention. We need a table, I think. I think the table we have is going to be to large. That just means I look for a smaller table. We will have to stay in the campground we found it at, until we pay it off, but we are allowed to pay installments without intrest. We move in to it next Friday.

you will be able to see me comeing up the road

I did the phone calls,
I set up to meet with the man,
and you would think Jerry did all the work..

It's a 05 Chevy 2500. (3/4 ton) v8 (moter size we needed) yellow van. It is DHL yellow. We won't miss it in a parking lot, that's for sure. The interior has been covered with wood. Great. The side door has a bit of damage to it. Looks like it scraped a dock somewhere. No hitch, but Jerry said that isn't going to be a problem.

We will be making weekly payments on it. At first he wasn't sure about weekly, but after he thought about, decided it was a better deal. It's set up for about 15 months to pay it off, but we will work on getting it done faster than that. As he said, with weekly payments, He'll know we havn't left town. He felt better about that. He doesn't know us, any more than we know him. But it was willing to take a risk on us. I know how hard that is for most people. But.. we noticed he likes bikes... and we like bikes. And we can talk bikes. I'm still looking for a trike for me.. once we get this paid down, I may ask him to help me find a trike.

We even helped him out with a small problem he had... He didn't know for sure that trailers in MO can be sold with just a bill of sale and not have to have a title. He has a trailer from MO and found out there wasn't a title to it. Now he knows how to get it legal in AL. We got both our horse trailers with just bill of sale. Of course we got them through an auction as well. He just needs to have a state trooper come get the serial number off the toung to verify it's not be stolen... Not a problem, he said.

We took the pups for a short ride in it. Rocky doesn't like that there are no side windows to look out of. He tries to sit on the floor between the front seats and look out. Jerry said we will take them to the park and let them run on extra long leads this weekend. (I'll believe it, when I see it) They really do need a good long play time, outside. I think I may try to pick up a couple of smallish balls for them to play with, as well.

I need my flash light. I was on the floor, trying to look under the bed to see what the pup was chewing on.. can't see a thing under there but shadows. I'll need a long pole as well, cause everything is out of my reach.
