Thanksgiving Poem

A Thanksgiving Poem:

May your stuffing be tasty,
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
and may your
Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!
(Unknown who wrote that but I thought it was funny)
Have a safe holiday folks!

10 15 2020

10 15 2020
Just an quick update.

Life is good, here, just been busy.

We have been taking more thingsout of the camper and putting either in the house, or in to storage.

I've decorated for Halloween around the house. I've found a few things to go on the porch.

We lost Macon two weeks ago, We think it was he heart just gave out on him. But his last day was a good day, for him. He played with Liam, and got lots of loving from Jerry and me during the day. Ifwe had known it was going to be his last day, he would have gotten even more attention.  I still miss seeing him in the house.

I removed all the food plants from around the porch. They were done and just looked about dead.

September 4, 2020

I started the morning with a shower and making the bed. I was awake early and let Jerry sleep in. I listened to the various news from my phone before making a pot of coffee, and sitting outside. I heard Jerry take the dogs out just before Liam arrived. We watched the trash truck, as we do each Friday morning.
Yesterday, evening. I cleaned out the two garden areas, one on each side of the porch, and only have a couple of food plants left, on the west side of the porch. I also broke the long bamboo canes (about 12 to 18 inches long, each) off my pot of bamboo and thinking of laying them along side each porch side, and see if they will grow. (snicker) They would make a natural screen if they grow fast enough.
I still needto sweep off the porch. I did sweep off the ramp, from where Jerry used the weed eater to trim back more stuff from around the house and the porch. I pulled the trash can to the road side so Jerry wouldn't have to do that. and he took the dogs out for last call. I took them out mid day, today, because he was bringing in the boxes of bBateman meals. we got an extra box, today. We also got a bag of tomatoes from the Senior Center.
Two men (I never met them) came and put a new back door in for us. It looks very good, We will have to put weather stripping on ourselves though. I'm good with that. Jerry put a 1 x 3 board under one side of the washer in hopes that it will stop jumping around when it's starts the spin cycle each time. The floor is un even and that jumping around is going to ruin the machine.
Jerry may be starting to work in 2 to 3 weeks, part time, mixing pigment with plastic pellets.. A job he once had, before we were married.
Liam helped me with the dishes, this morning. and he's been good about tossing his trash into the trash can, today.
Jerry and Liam are both asleep, and I'm reading and taking care of very old emails while I have peace and quiet here. I did talk to Barbara for a bit, this morning while Jerry was getting her box along with ours, and the hot meals we get from Hometown Cooking at the skating rink in town.

Plans for the rest of today.  Maybe finally get around to chopping up a small head of cabbage for some Cole Slaw. I keep thinking about getting up and starting that, but I'm afraid that I'll end up waking Liam up and would then have to keep him quiet while Jerry is still sleeping. All that weed eating and pulling on the started rope has made his shoulder sore, again.
I need to make Nadine a Birthday Card, this weekend. Her birthday is next week. I will have "three" day without Liam since it's Labor Day weekend and we never have any set plans for this holiday, any more.  No parades around here, except in Whitwell and we really are not all that into parades unless they are in the town we live in.
I will finish the porch clean off (I hope) Tomorrow morning since Liam will not be here, and put away all the summer stuff. I'm not even sure if I'm going to do much in the way of cleaning it up before I box it up.
I have a rather largish chicken, that I will cook in the Turkey roaster, tomorrow wince it will be the coolest day of the weekend and do need to cook it very soon.
This weeks Holiday Grand Plan is the front porch, for me, that includes on each side of it so that has been covered and now the porch just need the stuff moved. Rocks picked up and put in a bucket, a good sweeping and maybe a washing with some soapy water. The Welcome mat washed off. and the las of the decorations removed. not that I know of any that are still up. outside.
I'm thinking that, Monday, I will change out my cover on the bed from this very nice summery one, to one more suited for Fall.
