Crazy weather

This is crazy weather this year.

I'm in a "Spring" cleaning mood today. I've done the back of the camper including vacuuming the floor. I haven't had the vacuum out since before Christmas. I have been sweeping the floor often so it's not totally inches deep in fur and dirt.

The dishes are done, the counters all cleaned and wiped off and the beds made.

Took the dogs out twice, the second time for a much longer time that the first so they could play. Barney loves sliding on the sheet of ice we still have out front of the camper.  It's not a water leak, at least we don't think it's a water leak but more of seepage from under the ground.  A natural Spring. Jerry has to be careful where he parks if I'm in the truck or I'm going to get into the truck because I will not get on that ice. Barney gets some good distance when he's sliding around on it. He will bring me a rock or a bottle cap to toss onto the ice and then he takes is as far as he can before he gets to the end of his lead, picks it up and brings it back to me.  It is so fun to watch him and yes, it puts a smile on my face  every time he does it.

It's hard to believe but I have the door open right now. I will have to close it soon because I can see the line of clouds that means a front is about to come through and that will bring some really cold air with it.  but for now, it's great to be able to air out the camper for a little bit. Here at my corner of the couch it's 72f.   That is nice and comfy for me.   I'll have to put extra clothes on tomorrow when I wake up.  and I'll have to leave a burner turn on the stove after I make Jerry's breakfast, just to keep from getting too cold (again)

Since I have this burst of energy, I'm putting it to good use because I know that after I have eye surgery on Friday I may not feel like doing more than making beds, washing dishes and cooking supper for a few days.

For Today ... Jan 20, 2014

For Today ... Jan 20, 2014

Howdy.... and good morning. I woke up extra early this morning and just couldn't get back to sleep. I'm afraid that I may have woke Jerry up early, as well. He had to decide if he felt well enough to go in to work. He finally decided he would go in, with a promise that, if he felt like he had to come home, he would go to the Urgent Care Clinic.  He didn't what sausage for breakfast, but did eat 2 eggs and the Remein soup he has every morning.  I did offer him a banana but he turned that down, as well.  Saturday, he said if this Is the Flu, then our having the shots last month made a difference.  if it's not Flu, he just wants to feel better.
It's getting cloudy outside and our high for today is to be in the upper 50's.  We have a chance of snow tomorrow, about an inch or so. I'm going to let the dogs play outside this afternoon longer than usual, if possible. And we have another chance of snow on Thursday, when I have two appointments to keep.  It's a good thing Jerry doesn't have any trouble with driving in snow.

Right now, Macon and Rocky are asleep on my bed and Barney is asleep in one of the kennels.  Two of the cats are sleeping close to me, and the other is on Jerry's bed. They are waiting for when it's time for me to feed them their canned cat food. and let the dogs outside for morning potty.

From the kitchen...  Salad, Cheesy Beefy Hashbrown Dinner, Peas, and Chocolate covered small pretzels for dessert.

Cheesy Beefy Hashbrown Dinner
1/2 a bag of hashbrown potatoes
1 lb of Ground meat (beef or pork)
1/3 to 1/2 jar Cheese Whiz or shredded Velvetta cheese
Spray crockpot with none stick spray.
Place 1/2 a bag of hashbrown potatoes in a hot large skillet and brown, turn over.
Season and brown ground meat,
place 1/3rd of the potatoes in the crockpot, cover with 1/3 of the browned meat, the a large dollop of the cheese. repeat 2 more times.. ended with the Cheese on top. Put on a lid cook for a couple of hours, to melt the cheese and let it soak into the dish.

I am hearing... NCIS on USA.  The heater in the living room. And the water dripping in the sink.

I am wearing...

I am reading...  Brown Sweat pants, my dark blue and my Wild Horses T-Shirt.

I am thankful that... Jerry felt good enough to at least try to go in to work.

I am hoping... Jerry feels better soon.

I am creating...  I am using my Cricut  to cut out lots of things for Christmas cards.  I have a box to put them in, as soon as we drink all the flavored water we picked up this week.

One of my favorite things...  Watching Barney playing on ice. He loves to slip and slide around on the stuff.

A few plans for today... Sort dirty clothes, make the beds, make dessert, cut some paper

A few plans for the rest of the week... cut more paper, keep appointments. Stay happy.

Good Afternoon...

Good Afternoon...
I'm slow getting sta
rted today. It's not a good eye day but it's not totally bad either.  I could see well enough to take the trash to the trash bin earlier.  I had to go slow, but that's okay because I was able to keep warm. I had on a hoodie and my coat and a scarf. I had knit gloves under my leather gloves. Driving with just knit gloves is like driving without any gloves at all.
Our water is Ugly today.  When I went to flush the Toilet earlier the water came out of the faucet Brown. Not a light brown but a dark brown. It's lighter in color now but it's still not clear.  I called the office, no one there of course, and left a message about the water. I'll call again about 2 pm, when someone "should" be in there.  While I was out, I checked the water at the office in the ladies room and it was just as ugly.
We had lots of rain over night, but now it's dry and sunny which is great considering how cold it's going to get tonight. Danville is suppose to be only 5 overnight and that is going to break the all time record for here.  I do know that the Kansas City Kansas schools are not open today. Mary, Jerry's twin drives for the City and was called late afternoon and told No School due to the cold.

I put extra blankets on the beds when I made them this morning. I have an Electric blanket and I put a wool blanket on top of that, Jerry's Electric blanket doesn't work, so I put two extra blankets on his bed. It's nights like this that I really don't like how our beds are set up.

I had a strange dream last night. Jerry and I were in a boat that floated in the air as well as on the water, and somehow I lost him and was looking for him. then ended up at a dinner table with strangers and the man at the table was trying to get me to drink something I know I won't drink, He even tried to spike my drink but I saw him do it and told him off. The alarm went off at that time and so I don't know how the rest of the dream was going to go.  Usually dreams like that, that make no sense, happen when something I don't expect is going to happen.  Any one else having strange dream's like this?
Once I had the dogs out this morning, I brought in all the leads so I could untangle them.  They were a mess. I had to do a lot of yard cleaning while I was out there, as well.  Jerry will take the dogs out but he refuses to use the pooper scooper to pick it up and toss it into the woods.  So on good eye days, I try to find as much as I can and give it a good toss into the woods or over the edge of the cliff.
I need to take the dogs out again, back in a bit to write more....

There, The dogs have been out three times today. At least two more times to go... late afternoon before the sun goes down and then after 8 pm for the night.  The later the better so they can "last" until daylight tomorrow.  I'm sure all three cats will go out with the dogs, then cry to come back in not long after that.  They like to curl up around my feet and I can't stand that. They make my feet so hot. I end up kicking them off and then they move over to Jerry's feet.
