From my Mom's recipes box.
28 Vanilla Caramels.
1/4 cup Water.
1t4 cup Butter.
3/4 cupSugar.
1/4 teaspoon Salt.
1 1t4 teaspoon Vanilla
2 Eggs, beaten.
1 cup Pecan halfs.
1 9inch Pie Shell (unbaked)
Melt Caramels with water and butter in double boiler.
Stie occasionally until sauce is smooth.
Combine sugar, salt, vanilla and eggs. Gradually add Caramel sauce, mix well.
Stir in nuts.
Pour into pastry shell.
Bake at 350(F), 30 -35 minutes.
Pie filling will appear to be very soft but will become firm as it cools.
