I love my life. I keep busy with taking care of my Hubby and our pets. I am sure that Life is more than a clean kitchen and empty sink. If you were to visit me, you may find some craft or another 1/2 done on the table. We no longer travel since Hubby has retired, but we still enjoy seeing new places and faces.

What do you do...
What do you do when you have an unexpected day off?
Well.. we go Geo Cache hunting. right of. Hubby has to look up all the caches we are going to search for, today. He's got the paid membership while I have a free one. A Grr on that in a bit.
But before we can leave, the dogs "have" to go for a ride. They just gotta go. Can't wait.
So, Hubby gets in some pants and takes them out along with the trash. Theyu not only get a ride, the get to take care of busness as well before getting back into the camper. The cats in the meantime, have to be rounded up and put into the kennels. Oh yeah. All 4 got a quick dunking in warm water this moring. They made a huge mess in a kennel and not only did they each get a bath, I had to wash out the kennel. I forgot and left the roll of T.P. down. guess what got shredded while we were eating breakfast.
don't you just love all the demon eyes we have in here?
Ming's Court, is a Buffet Restraunt, Yep Asian food. Hubby does not eat Asian food. I love it. We searched and searched for this last week. I know we looked in the tree, where we found it. Hubby was determined to find it this time.
And it's in plain sight, really.
The clue for the next one said, Not a skirt lifter. We pulled up and well, there isn't a skirt to lift. Hubby thought he saw it, under the pole support.. nope. I found it. I love finding this kind, now that I know what they look like.
I didn't find the next one, Hubby did though. I was looking in the right place but I'm not sticking my hand down in some spider web in a hole in a tree. He's got the picture but I've not got it from him, just yet.
Here is the machine
The next cache was a skirt lifter, At the health department. The title didn't fit the cache at all. But we found it anyway.
Inside the bottle was this 1964 penny. I had to take several pictures before I got one that would show the date. I didn't take my glasses with me.
About that Grr, I mentoned before. I can't log caches we found that are hidden and only for "Premiun" Members (sorry about the spelling) Hubby can log that they were found. And, Hubby forgot to mark which ones were PM's. I do wish they had a family membership program for that. I could have been doing something else instead of looking for caches I can't log in to. like reading emails or posting to a group or two.. Ah well. .it's only time.

Jerry is still not feeling well. Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever has he worn totally out. I offered to make breakfast but he wanted to go out. He didn't want to go to a buffet but we did anyway. We went to Shoney's. It was ok. They have changed their menu.. or so the hostest said.. I didn't notice any change unless having one side of the steam table empty is change
. After breakfast, We headed back toward the camper. Jerry pulled over in to the lane to go to Wal-Mart and I asked him, where are we going? He said he may as well get his gas right now, since we are out.. Ok, drop me off at the Dollar General and I'll get the pet food and a few other items that are on my list at home. I spent just over $20 between the dog food, canned cat food. mouth wash (to spray at the cat when they are in trouble) Lysol, a comb for me, and some note cards. Oh, can't forget the Q-tips. I have to keep those hid from the cats. They found my last box and emptied it before I knew they had it. There wasn't many left in it, but still..... By the time I was done shopping there, Jerry was waiting for me to come out of the store. So I toss everything into the back of the van and we head toward the camper again. Save a lot is on the way. I thought he was going to get out, but he changed his mind on that. I spent just over $80 and since I'm was buying for more than just a week, that's not bad at all. I took advantage of the 5 for $19.99 sale. I picked up mini pizza's that we can cook in the toaster oven. think that will be for dinner tonight. A large package of ground beef. A package of 4 large hamburger patties. I mean huge patties. each one is enough for a meal. so I figure two meals out of that. two to three from the hamburger, two meals of the pizza's and I found a nice package of steaks that I'll get two meals out of. the last item of the special is a bag of meat balls. That will save me some time when I'm ready to make it up. I could just get out the crockpot, pour in 1/2 a bottle of spegettie sauce and 1/3 of a pack of those meatballs. and let that cook a few hours. I have a small crock pot. From there, we came home. I told Jerry. You go inside, I'll bring it all in and when I get it in, I'll put it away. It's not that I was really being nice to him. I need to know where things are and he doesn't always put things where I would put them.
He was falling asleep on the couch and I had to tell him to go to bed. He tends to spread out when he falls asleep on the couch and I was starting to feel penned in. I'll let him sleep as much as he can today. I will try to get him to go to bed early each night this week. Which means I may be going to bed early myself each night.
I found a tick on Rocky last night. Rocky does not like to be patted but loves to be rubbed. I had just trimmed my nails and when I sat on my bed, he got up beside me and pawed at my hand . That's his way of asking me to rub on him. He got a really big grin (for a dog) on his face and you could tell he was really loving that, when I felt a bump.. he turned to I could get to that bumb better and I'll be.. a tick. It hadn't been on him long, and I sure hope not long enough to give him anything more than an itchy back. After I got the tick off, he didn't want me rubbing on him any more.
Dinner was a hamburger pattie, some fried potatoes, green beans and some bugle snacks.
I took the dogs each for a walk around the campground. I wore two pedimeters and they both came up close to 1.30. or just under 3000 steps. That was just for going around and not all day's steps. Think I'll start wearing one again.

Good Morning... August 11
It's another nice day outside. I'm planning another long walk this evening with the dogs, only not as late as yetserday's walk. I would like to get back to our camper before it gets too dark. Ah, I noticed yesterday, while looking out the window that it looks more like the first week of September out there than the second week of August. Do you know what I mean? It's still hot outside but not as hot. The air feels different, as well. It's easier to breath, at least to me. The dogs seem to want to walk further. They Pull a bit more in certain areas as well. Got to make them stop doing that. I know it's because other dogs are in the area and they want to visit. There are also cats in the area and my dogs want to visit with them, as well. I do wonder just how long this weather is going to last. I would love to get into the pool a couple of more times. I don't go alone at all. I dont' even go in through the gate since I don't tan and just want to get wet in the shallower end of the pool.
We seem to have a peeping kid. She's a cute little thing and she wants to come see the kitties in the back window. Dad had a hard time with her yesterday keeping her away from the back of our camper and I think our cats were encouraging her to come peek inside. I saw him lead her away at least 4 times.
Because Jerry didn't feel well, at all. I just had a sandwich and chips for din ner and watermelon for dessert. I hope that it stays cool enough that I can start to do a bit of cooking. tonights meal will be Beef Sausage, Salad, Mac and Cheese and melon for dessert.

I'll do the rest of the laundry this afternoon. While I was putting away the clothes I washed yesterday, I noticed that Jerry didn't have any jeans left in his drawer. He has two pairs of pants left, but they are not jeans. I need my cut off sweats shorts as well. So I'll just have to do the rest today instead of spreading it out a bit more.
Well, then.. maybe I'll have my dinner out tomorrow, if Jerry is back to work. I enjoyed the meal I had at the buffet place just down the road last week with Heather. As usual, it's a bit hard to do my daily work with Jerry home. I did clean the kennels this moring. Both were a mess. Yuck. And we have had to put cats in kitty jail. One for jumping on the counter and the other for curtain climbing. All are out of jail, for now. But, if they keep up the jumping and running I may have to rejail them so Jerry can get more rest.
Outside my door ... Wow. what a nice morning walk we had. Of course the dogs down the driveway were barking at us.. all 6 or 7 of them. Noisy little things. At least my dogs knew why we were out and were willing to get "there" and get done. I'll take them for another walk here in a bit, and then a short round of the driveways so they can stretch their legs a bit. Nothing like my brother's sled dogs, who love to run, but a good walk is what we all need. I can't help it that other peoples' dogs bark at my dogs. I'm walking on the road / driveway. Its just so much nicer to walk than it was last week. According to Weather Channel, our high is going to be mid 80's. Almost unheard of for the second week of August, Usually it's still in the low 90's. I'll take this weather. Believe me I love it.
I talked to Beth a bit yesterday. She got a pacakage in the mail, that she just loves. She's starting to panic a bit because she doesn't have much baby stuff. She got a very lovely quilt from my friend, Cindi, in South Africa. What a great gift. Beth has been doing a bit of shopping. Got a few onies's and a few other things but since she doesn't have any room to store much, she's getting a bit antsy to get into her own place before the baby is born.
From the kitchen... Beef Sausage, Salad, Mac and Cheese. At least that's what the plan is. May change if Jerry doesn't want to have this. I think we better eat the rest of the watermelon soon. I had some as part of breakfast and it's not going bad yet but I doubt it's going to last much longer either.
I am wearing... kakie shorts and a white tshirt. Just about my every day wear is a t shirt any more. I need to pick up a few more soon, though. These are no longer whilte.

Rice
Everyone reacts differently to different things,. I can't eat one slice of Pizza. I can eat the bread, or the sauce, but I can't have both. Rice does not raise my sugar at all, Yet I know it raised my Mom's a little bit. I do limit myself to only 1/2 cup of rice when I have it. Even if I have rice written on the meny there are times a last minute change is made. Tonight, when I realized how late it was, Jerry forgot his phone so he couldn't call me to let me know he was on his way home. I changed and made alfredo noodles from a package instead. I ate a large salad and only a couple of spoons of the noodles. Add in two small Chicken breasts strips and that was duinner. I may have some Watermelon in a bit but doubt it.
Do note that I change up, potatos one night, rice, then a noodle dish. rarely I'll have corn. or bread as in a hamburger.
Good Morning...
We have rain this morning, but I just checked the Weahter Channel and once this is out, we should just have a few clouds. I hope we have clouds all day so the camper does not heat up too much.
The dogs know we didn't move much. Last night, I got one of Jerry's head lights. It's a light on a headband. I need both hands to walk the dogs at times. I wasn't paying that much attention and we ended up behind the camper. The dogs still want to explore and I don't want to, at least not at night. Yesterday, we took a short walk and three dogs came out barking. All are on lines, but the look that man gave me while he was putting his dogs up.. well I'd be a puddle if looks could kill. If he ever says something, I'll just tell Mike. I was on the road, and I have as much right to walk my dogs on the road as any one else.
The Cats are in Kitty jail this morning. Two for counter jumping and two for waking me up! I had to wash out both kennels this morning after waking up. They were clean when I let them out at 4 am, They all had plenty of time to "take care of busness" before they were put back in at 6 am. But while I had them out from under the shelf, I swept up where they belong and cleaned up so it wasn't too bad.
From the kitchen, we are going to have Chicken Tenders, Salad. Rice, and Watermelon for dinner tonight. I'm not sure if I'm going to bake the chicken or cook it in a skillet. A lot will depend on how warm it is this afternoon before I start cooking. Save a Lot had a sale of 5 for $19.99 and I took advantage of it, last week. These Tenders are pre-seasoned so all I have to do is put them in and let them cook.
I am hearing the T.V. (as usual) The View is just going off. I have 1/2 an hour before Y&R comes on. It would be a good time to walk the dogs, if I could just get them to wait this long. We already took our second walk of the day. A short one, I admit. I'll try to get a longer walk in this evening.
I am wearing jean shorts and my purple flowered top. I have to do laundry this afternoon. I just pooped out yesterday afternoon. I don't want to have to do laundry on Jerry's only day off. So I'll do a load a day and see how that works out for us. I'll go once Y&R is over with and see how much time it takes to do one cycle. Usualy it's only about an hour.\
I am reading? I'll have to get in the closet and pick out a book to take with me over to the office to read while the laundry is being done. I have several books on the shelf and I really should start reading again.
A few plans for the rest of the week, besides laundry, is to keep the camper cleaner. I've gotten lazy the last few weeks and been letting things slide. I really do need to keep on top of things or I'll letl it just get to me and make me depressed. The heat wasn't helping and having all the shields in all the windows didn't help either. I sure don't want to put them back in, but I may have to, in order to keep the camper cool enough.

August 8
So now we can only sleep in one day a week. Yeah, right. the dogs had us up by 6:30 because of the thunder they heard. I got them out just in time. Just as we got back in the house, it started raining. Part of what woke us up was we lost power for a few seconds. Everything came back one and by the time I had taken the dogs out, gotten "dressed", taken my med's and all the rain had all but stopped.
Putting all the animals into the kennels, we went out for breakfast at "The Farmer's Market". I ended up spilling a full cup of coffee when I reached for the Salt. The bottom of the salt shaker caught on the wire rack the salt and pepper are in, and it tipped every thing over into my coffee cup. what a mess. But I didn't let it ruin my day. I just moved to the other side of the table and I got another cup of coffee. "The Farmer's Market" is a buffet style place to eat. Jerry likes it better than Shone's. Not by much.
From there, we went driving around. If only this area was closer to his job. We found a few nice places that are for rent. But this hour one way drive is really taking it's toll on Jerry.
On Saturday night, we both were looking on Craig's list for houses for rent. One place, when the person wrote back, was a scam.. saying how he's out of country and on a mission... I wrote back. that we are no longer interested. Even if he's legit (I read a note on Craig's list that it's a scam) I do not want to deal with someone who is not at least in the state, and would much prefer someone who is in the city or county the house is in. Anyway. I had found one ad, that I thought I had answered last week, but wrote to it again anyway, leaving Jerry's phone number. No reason to give mine, I'm not in the area to go look at any place, Jerry will have to look after work. Well, we got a call and Jerry is going to check it out after work today. He may get a rain out, that would be good, in a way, since he could use some of the day to look for either a campground or a house for us to rent that is much closer to the job.
Back to Sunday's adventures. After our drive, and we did see some nice country down some nice country roads, We stopped and I got to look for a Geocache that I had on a watch list and had received a note that it was still there. Jerry let me get out and look for it. There it was, under the edge of the fancy part, close to the ground. Signed the log (still need to log it on the Geo Cache site) no pictures, as we both forgot our camera's. We were not expecting to look for any caches. We get back to the camper, and, guess what? NO POWER. Thinking we may have just tripped a breaker, we did the usual breaker check. Both inside, then out. Well none were tripped. So I go look at the neighbor's meter and it's working. Hum. hum. hum..... Jerry goes up and tells Mike we have no power. That we had power after the lights flickered but now we don't. He comes down and does the breaker check like we did. His handyman comes down and also does the breaker check and checks the meter next to us and sees that it's working. Gets out a meter and there's a back feed from somewhere up the line. Seems ours is the only site it's effected.
We had to move to a different site. Not what Jerry wanted to do on his day off work. I had to move things off counters and the TV so nothing would fall and get broken while Jerry was undoing things outside. Mike goes and finds an open site we can have. Finally found a site. We try driving in from one direction, um.. that's not going to work, so we go up to the office, turn the rig around (Give me 40 Acers song reminder) and head into the site from the other direction. In order to get all the lines to reach. we have to almost pull all the way to the road and there isn't a way for Jerry to park the van behind the camper and still get out if someone parks behind us. which someone did last night. So he had to park sidewise in front of the camper.
while setting up, the sewer hose finally broke. I say finally since I have been telling Jerry we really need to replace it since before we left Jackson AL. We have just been lucky that it lasted this long.
At least this site wasn't as hard to get the camper level on. We now have some extra blocks of wood. I have to take the dogs further to potty. At least it's not as hot as it was last week.
When we made "one more trip" to Wal-mart, I picked up some Kiwi and some Apricots as well as a watermelon. I have been wanting watermelon since July 4 th. I cut up the cantaloupe we had in the fridge after dinner last night. I'll cut up the watermelon something today.
Well, it's almost 5:30 and I need to clean the camper, again. I want to get it all done before the sun comes up and starts heating it up, in here.
I did explain to Mike that his meter does not have an outlet for 110 and that this tin can heats up more than the overhead air can cool. Can us still plug into the 110 at the box during the heat of the day with the window unit. Sure, no problem. I think we surprised him in asking and not in just doing it.
Saturday, August 6, 2011
Not a lot going on around here, right now. I'm just trying to keep awake most of the time. Once the housework is done, there just isn't much for me to do but watch tv and or be on the computer. It's too hot to walk the dogs much right now. Although this morning we did get in a 10 minute walk, once the dogs went "P". Jerry is working today. He is now on mandatory 60 hours a week. I did suggest that he check out a R.V. park he heard of from someone at work. to see if its' a place we would like to be. Of course, we are paid up here until the first of September but that's not really that far off, now when your looking for a nice place.
I will have to try looking on Craig's list again for a place to rent. Jerry was at first surprised how high the rents were on the places I sent him. but after thinking about it, he said they really were reasonable. Well, lets see.. if we were in a motel room. we would be paying over $350 a week. Here at this R.V. Park it's $300 plus electricity. Last week I paid for two weeks electricaly use and it was just over $35. A house rents for around $400 to $700 a month. but that is for 3 to 4 bedrooms. Lots more room than what I have here. I still want out in the country and not in a city. I want the dogs to have some room to be outside if I want them outside.

August 5, 2011
Oh, it looks like I just walked the dogs in time to miss a summer shower. It just got darker outside. (just checked weather channel map, and it looks like I'm right) I saw someone up on their roof, cold coating it. I hope he gets done before it starts to rain. We need the rain around here. the trees are shedding leafs and that's never a good thing this time of the year.
The cats and dogs seem to have recovered from the constant attention the Grand Kids gave them while they were here visiting. Smokey is still laying around and wants to be carried everywhere. Tupelo is still hiding but that's the normal for her. Fuzzybutt wants Jerry to hold her all the time. She can't wait for him to sit down so she can get on his arm. Strips has been getting into more trouble than usual. Jumping up on the sink, in plain sight of me. Running from end to end. When he starts that, Smokey will chase him. I would like to think that it's because Smokey knows that running like that gets everyone put into kitty jail.
It was so hot yesterday that we ate out. Jerry needed to put gas in the van anyway. I needed to run into Wal-Mart anyway. I picked up some drink mix for him, some yarn to finish up the baby blanket I'm making for Baby Heather, and some Cutter's bug spray. Yes, it worked this morning to keep my legs itch free. I put some on last night but still had an itch. I'm not sure if it was a bug or just an old bug bite that was healing.
Ah.. the sweet sound of rain on the roof top. Such a nice sweet sound when it's been so hot outside. I do hope that it cools things down even more and not just raise the humidity. And. I don't have to water my one pot of Catnip I have growing outside the doorway. I really want to pick up a couple of small planters and get some flowers for by my door. But it will have to be flowers that repel bugs and not attract them. Maigolds are good for that.
I had to trim my grey shorts a bit more. they were just a tad too long. Also they were a bit crooked so I fixed that before putting them on this morning.

Can you say "Tired"?
After Hubby got home, had dinner and we all talked a bit, Heather went and got her motel room paid for, for two nights. Came back for a while and we sat outside for a bit. i was driven back into the camper by the misquitos. B joined me inside for the same reason.
Know the best way to keep two kids occupied? give them each a flashlight. I don't keep the lights on inside because they make it hotter in here. So they used the lights to look into just about every thing that was low enough they could see in. Heather also did a quick tour of the camper. She said she could see how she and the kids could live in this much (or little) space easy enough since she doesn't do crafts or collect any thing .
