Howdy....

Howdy.... I woke up about 6:10 and got dressed then took the dogs out. Jerry got home a bit after 7 and I found out he called me but I never heard the phone. I made breakfast for the both of us, and now he's gone off to bed. With this rainy day he should be able to sleep well. It's nice and dark in the bedroom today.
( 6 PM) We have had rain all day long and it looks like most of tonight as well. Hubby has gone off to work but half expects he'll be sent back home. I've jumped up and gotten most of the dishes washed, waiting on the hot water tank to reheat now as I write this. I know it's still winter but I'm so ready for warmth and spring to get here. I think the ground hog got it wrong this year. Beth said they had over 8 inches of snow where she's at.
The dogs are barking and running between the door and Jerry's bed. There's a new camper moving in down the row from us and they want to go see. The cars are all back outside now that they have had their canned food. Stripes got booted out the door earlier because he jumped on the stove and wouldn't get down when I told him to get down. He spent the rest of the day outside, mewing to come back in. I only allowed him in to eat.
Tomorrow morning, I'm going to start a pork roast. Jerry isn't much for pork roast but if I season it right he may eat it. I'm debating between cooking it in the crock pot or in the oven. I'm thinking the crock pot because if I use the oven I have to plug the heater in someplace else. I'll have to fix a salad to go with the roast. I will add potatoes and green beans in the pot as well. I going to remember to sear all the sides of the roast before I put it in the pot. Not sure what I'll make for dessert yet. I'll figure that out in the morning.
I have the news on but I'm waiting for Jerry to call me and let me know he's on his way back home. I need to watch a couple of the shows I DVR-ed today. Tonight we will have NCIS and NCIS LA on. I don't know what I'll watch after that because from what I've seen of the ad's for "Golden Boy" I'm not interested in that show at all.
I am wearing... dark blue sweat pants and a purple sweater. (sigh) I need some lighter colors to wear, I think.
I am reading... I read my chapter of the bible this morning and I've been reading emails all day long off and on. Playing Book Worm from time to time as well.
I am thinking... I can't wait for my Magic Bullet to get here so I can see just what does it do. I want to try the juicer part out first I think. I will need to go to the store first.
I am thankful for... Jerry still working although we would rather he not work nights.
I am hoping... Jerry doesn't have to work in the rain tonight. That we can visit Heather and her family next month.
I am creating... I need to work on a couple of cards for the grand kids for St Patrick's day.
One of my favorite things... surprising Jerry with things he likes to eat.
A few plans for today...Well tonight anyway... I plan on making Jerry's bed. and I hope to get the floor cleaned up, I know it would get done if I would just get up off the couch and do it.
A few plans for the rest of the week... I try not to make plans because sure as I do, I have to scrap them or change them around too much.

dinner tonight is Crock pot chili

I just put into my crock pot
1 pound of browned ground beef
sprinkled 1/3 of a pack of dry Chili seasoning mix
1 can of pinto beans
sprinkled on 1/3 more of the dry chili seasoning
1 can of Tomatoes with Green Chilies
the rest of the dry chili seasoning.

I'll let this cook on high for a couple of hours, then turn down until it's time to eat. I'll not stir it until just before it's time to eat.

As you can see, I've just started browning the meat when I took this picture.  what do you think of my two burner stove top?

Howdy.

Howdy. It's a fine Sunday afternoon. I'm on the lazy side today.. I'm just now starting my dishes... our water tank is so small that I have to run the dish water, let a few things sit in it while the tank warms up more water.  Try taking a shower sometime with just 3 to 4 gallons of hot water and you'll have an idea how much fun that is.

I've already fed the cats outside. I want to change the time I feed them from afternoon to mornings.
Because Jerry got off work because of rain yesterday, he had to go in today and work.  So he's not got a full day off because he had to get up early and go to the  job yesterday.  He took a nap yesterday afternoon and went to bed a bit later than his usual. He did pick up "Game Of Throwns" season 2 while we were at Wal-mart yesterday.

The sun is shining and I have the door open for a little while.  Rocky is sitting on front of the door staring at the neighbors. Macon is asleep in the sun on my bed and Barney is right beside him.  I haven't made the beds yet today.. I may not make them for a while. as I said, I'm on the lazy side today.
I'm going to make Hot dogs with spegettie noodles poked through them for our dinner tomorrow, and I'll serve them with tomato sauce.  I have the makings for Chili for later this week.
I have the tv on for noise but I may turn it off and play some music on my mp3 player.
I've been reading emails today. I have most of next weeks craft newsletters ready to go out. Just have to finish them up with a printable picture
Oh Man. Jerry just called. He's still working but he's going to nights. Not by choice, I'll have to go to Hobby Lobby tomorrow and pick up some dark material to make the bedroom dark enough he can sleep.

Paint a Shamrock Ivy Bowl

How to Paint a Shamrock Ivy Bowl

ivy-bowl
If you've never painted on glass before, this St. Patrick's day shamrock ivy bowl is a perfect project to learn a new skill.

St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Bowl
What You Need:

glass ivy bowl

glass paint (brand used here was Pebeo vitrea)

rubbing alcohol

soap and water

Glass Painting - Ivy Bowl
Instructions:

1. Wash the ivy bowl thoroughly with soap and water and allow to dry completely.

2. Paint on the design. Shamrocks are easy to do - simply paint three heart shapes to make the familiar shamrock leaf shape, with a small stem added at the bottom.

3. If you make a mistake, you can erase the paint with rubbing alcohol, then allow it to dry and begin again.

4. Wait 24 hours to allow paint to set and cure, before baking to set the design permanently. Follow package instructions for baking -- the glasses shown were baked in the oven for 40 minutes at 325 degrees. After baking, your design should be resistant to normal usage and dishwashing.

Howdy

Howdy. Can I pull my hair out now?? I've poured a whole bottle of drain cleaner into this darn drain. 1/2 in the morning and the rest throughout the day as it's seeped just a little through the drain. I know it's not under the drain as I have a large dishpan under there to take care of any drips that may occur. I have a drip from the faucet so I've been keeping an old juice jug under it to keep from diluting the drain cleaner more. That is also how I know it's a very slow seep. When I first put the jug under the drip the bottom of it was in the bit of water/drain cleaner at the edge of the sink. It got low enough that the water wasn't even touching it. I empted that jug last night and put it under the drip again, It was over-flowing when I got up this morning at 7 AM. and the water was touching the bottom of it again.

I'm getting so spoiled with this, though. I get my kiss and a "I Love You" as Jerry is walking out the door. I don't have to get up. That is, unless the dogs beg to be walked. And if I wait until around 9 PM to walk them, they are good until 7 AM.

We ate at Pizza Hut last night. It wasn't too crowded. A family with 5 or 6 kids were there, and there was one kid, one of those "in the middle" kids who was just pushing his luck with everyone at the table. His Mom even made his change places and sit by her so she could stop his bad behavior. And I mean he really was pushing it. First he wanted down off the high chair. and he was determined to get down. He got a swat for that and he stopped tried to get down. Then he would push his highchair away from the table. It's on wheels so hey, that was fun. He did that several times even after his mom said she would take him out into the parking lot and give him "What For". That was when she moved him from beside his dad to around the table and to sit by her. Then he was banging the table with a spoon so they took the spoon away. Then he wanted to go to the bathroom. He got down and started to pick on one of his brothers instead of going to the bathroom, so back into the chair he went. Then two other brothers went to the bathroom and he wanted to join them. Not going to happen. By then their Pizza's came out and he settled down to eat. I did very well, not laughing out loud. We got a discount on our bread sticks because of how loud that kid was all the time. I didn't have the heart to tell the waitress that I was entertained by him, knowing that "I" didn't have to take him home and put him to bed.

We went to K-Mart after we got done eating. Jerry needed to replace his watch. He just can't find his watch and he's lost without it. He also picked up a different drain snake but by the time we got back home, it was time for him to go to bed, He said he'd use it tonight but I bet he won't work in that drain until Sunday. Which of course, naturally means we are eating out tonight. It will be hard to find someplace that isn't crowded because it will be the day after Valentines and Friday (date night for lots of people).

When we got home, I had Jerry's Valentines gift ready for him. I had a card on his computer and this cup on top of it. Jerry got me a card, while he was picking up his watch and the drain snake.

I reminded Jerry that I want to go look at the used Campers at the local R. V. center. We need larger but lighter. I would like a pull out of the side, as well. We want the Bath in the middle as well so that the bedroom is at one end.

. The one really bad thing about Jerry only getting one day a week off is we don't have time to just drive around. I still want to visit Shelby in Lynchburg but I just have so much to get done in just one day. Laundry, that takes at least 2 hours. And here lately we keep putting it off until we have next to nothing left to wear. We have to do all our shopping as well. The van will only hold so much so we usually end up taking the laundry home then have to go back out to do the shopping. Jerry wants to just sit at home and rest and I want to get out because all I have done is sit at home. We would like to go to a couple of museums around here. We would like to go find more Geo-caches.

make a fake email address in your address books. It works for any email account and will prevent anyone accessing your address books to send viruses and spam out. It is really simple to do. Go to add a new contact. You do not have to put a name at all. All you have to do is make the email address as follows. ~aaa.aaaaa@aaaaa.aaa

Because I also text to phones from my computer, I used ~111@11.11 so it's at the top of my email book

Once done the hacker cannot get past this fake address and so all your other addresses are safe and out of reach. The second safety feature of doing this is that you will be notified of a mail delivery failure notice when a hacker tries to uss this fake address to begin sending out mail. Because it is all (a's) this will always be the very first contact address in your email address books and hence why all others will be safe. I hope that this helps.

Tuesday Howdy....

Tuesday Howdy.... Now that I'm back on line... I just hate the my address book was used to send spam out. And worse was that I couldn't use my mountainrose mail for the rest of the day. The one bright spot is I now have a list of useless email addresses I can remove from my address book. I've been working on that a bit already.
I spent some of my off line time, copying recipe from emails into my recipe files.
I did manage to get a lot of my chores done yesterday. All but washing the dishes and putting things away in the living room. When Jerry called that he was on his way home, I asked him to pick up "Draino" or some other clog busting chemical. (I don't want to do it) He didn't stop on his way home... I'm guessing he thought I just didn't know what I was doing under the sink.... Duh. He tried but didn't get any better results that what I got.. Let's see, I tried to snake the drain. I got about 3 or 4 foot, I tried lots and lots of boiling water, laundry soap, dish soap and even fast orange hand cleaner. None of it seemed to work at all.

Outside my door ... Oh, Nice today. The sun is shining and we are to be in the low 60's today. That means I get to open the door later and let this camper air out, again.
The Dogs ... Went ballistic this morning.... They saw deer, by the time I got out the door to see what they were barking at all I saw was some white tails bounding through the woods. Barney was bouncing off of things so he's in the kennel for a bit.
The Cats ... come and go as they please. If they want in, they will "Meow" at the door. If they want out, they will sit at the door until one of us opens it for them. They are still in hopes that I'll open the back window so they cane come in and go out that way. Not going to happen.
From the kitchen... Salad, Taco seasoned Ground Beef in Mac and Cheese, and I'm not sure on dessert just yet. I'm thinking of baking a cake and tinting some of it Green and Purple ( a King Cake).
I am hearing... Jets over-head. the fan on the heater, the TV, the dogs barking at the low flying jet.
I am wearing... Gray sweat pants and a black T-shirt with horses on it.

Howdy. Monday

Howdy....
I'VE BEEN HACKED. Please do not open any links that are from me but not in my Terie's Crafts Newsletter.  This makes me so mad, because now I can't get back on AOL until Hubby gets home and resets my password for me. He keeps forgetting to give me the information so I can do it myself.  I did change my Yahoo password as soon as I realized I was hacked.  I have to double check my blogs to see if I got the messages off before someone thinks I sent that.

I got an email from one of the fellows in a Christmas Group that was a link and I know he was hacked the same way.  I'm wondering if that's where they got my email address to use it in this manner,
In the meantime. My camper is getting cleaned up and I'm able to get through some older emails and save what I want to keep and remove those that were just mass saved.  I hardly ever use Automatic because I don't want to down-load anything I'm not sure is from a friend.

02 07 13 Howdy....

Howdy.... We have water back !! Yea !!!! (No we don't, it got worse around PM and I had to turn it off again)
Now I can cook again. I was getting just a bit tired of eating out every night. letting Hubby pick the place. I did get a break from having to make all the choices all the time. Almost like childhood when Mom made all the dinner choices and we had two eat it or starve.
First off... let me go see just what I still have in the freezer to fix for tonight. I do know it's going to be something I can cook in the roaster oven since it's going to be cold and raining by the time Hubby gets home from work.
Ah, I found a Beef Roast to fix. I may just bake potatoes and open a can of green beans instead of cooking them all together. I love cooking them all together but I want a change up. I'll have to sear all the edges to it will stay tender,
I'm thinking of baking a cake to go with it. I have a few, one layer cakes I can put together easy enough before I start the roast.
I have to check our produce and see if we still have enough "good" vegetables to have a good salad.
I picked up two large bowls right before we lost water and I want to use them There's a pen/ painter that you can use on dishes then bake in the oven to set that I want to look for at Hobby Lobby Saturday, when Hubby gets off work early enough I can stop in and enjoy a short shopping trip.
I am boiling water and pouring it down the drain in hopes of getting it to open up. It worked last time. If I have to plunge it, I'm going to pick up a new plunger just for this sink.  They don't cost that much.
Ugh.. the dogs.... my younger daughter called me a bit earlier that usual and I rushed into the camper to answer the phone. Usually the dogs go in first.. because I was first they all decided it was time to play jump in and out of the camper.. every time I thought I had them all in, one would go out (Usually Barney but Rocky did as well) finally I got them all out of the way so I could close the door and talk to my daughter.  It was a bit chaotic for a few minutes.
It didn't help that the cats wanted to jump in and out as well. Strips wants to come in, look around to see if there is any canned cat food offered, the leave again if there isn't.

I am hearing... The fan on the heater, water dripping in the sink. sometimes, when I'm in the back I can hear the leaking water, as well.
I have to tell you the latest on Barney the dog.
He loves his balls (toys not other) He will do anything to play ball. He has learned to play ball by himself by picking one up and dropping it.. Macon is NOT a fan of playing balls. I watched from the couch while Barney came in here and found his orange ball. Ran and got on my bed. and sat there chewing on the ball. Macon gave him a 'look' and got down in the floor between the beds and laid down.. Now.. Barney is crafty to be sure. Just as Macon was falling asleep, Barney dropped his ball ON Macon. Macon of course Jumped and looked up, Barney Jumped down and got the ball and got back up on my bed. He looked like he was saying "Oops, Sorry" to Macon as he got back on the bed and Macon laid his head back down... and just as he was falling asleep again Barney dropped the ball again, jumped down and got the ball and got back up on my bed and Macon "Looked" at him. I would say he was warning Barney to not do it again.. Macon no sooner laid his head down and Barney dropped the ball a third time, Right on Macon's head. Macon Jumped up, turned around and by then, Barney had the ball again. And I swear, Barney had a grin on his face.
Macon gave a huge ol sigh and came in and laid down by the kitchen sink. Looked at me as if to say "WHY me?" and laid his head down... and yep, Barney managed to toss the ball and hit Macon one more time. Macon picked up the ball (which disappears in his mouth when he does that) and just looked at Barney, turned around put the ball down and then laid down on it. Barney came in here, looking for another ball, couldn't find one so he picked up the red squeaky bone and started chewing on it Right by Macon's ear. Macon heaved yet another huge sigh and sat up and looked at me as if to say, "Can't you do something with this kid?" It was then that I took Barney outside to play ball for a few minutes.

Feb 5 , Howdy

Howdy.... And now that it's Mid day... Good day. We have new neighbors in the section. They came in after dark last night.

Oh OH oH.. I LOVE Whoopie... she can come put with some off the wall remarks to be sure, but today she did great.
They were talking to someone who had gotten some 2nd degree burns before Christmas and Elizabeth said something about how the grill is her husband's domain...And that she was now afraid to use the grill and was willing to let him keep that domain.. That's when Whoopie said
" Women shouldn't be afraid to do anything !! "

As much as men don't like to hear that, it's a basic truth. You don't see most men afraid to do anything. But some men are more than willing to try to make a woman feel worthless if she tries and fails instead of encouraging her to try again.

I have been so lucky though. My Husband has never discouraged me from trying something new. He's never said I can't do something just because I'm a woman. My Older brother is much the same way. We were not totally given chores based on our gender. Yes I did more dishes than my brothers did, but I didn't have to mow the grass as often. We all took out the trash, took care of the pets and picked up after ourselves. My Mom was thrilled when Thom had to take a course of Home Ec, in school and loved that I got a course in shop. I loved shop. The teacher wasn't too thrilled to be teaching a bunch of girls though, and tried his best to make it harder on us that it should have been. But then, that was back in the late 1960's and early 1970's.. Just past bra burning and just about the height of Women's Lib. I'm glade we have almost outgrown that. Many women still have to be "Super Mom".. you know they. They get up early, Cook breakfast, clean house, go off to work for 8, 10 or 12 hours a day then come home and clean house some more. And on the weekends they are frazzled because the housework they did during the week, has to be done yet again.Plus they are in charge of taking care of the kids. How sad is it.. a woman may be asked how she handles having both a job and raising kids. Hardly ever is a man asked how he handles having both a job and kids.

Jerry and I were more Traditional. Yes, I did work a few times outside the house. mostly part time jobs that were a few hours a day not 5 days a week most of the time, after the kids were born. Once Beth was born I didn't work outside the house at all except for one week. Now that the kids are out of the house, I wish I had worked at least some of the time. I'm just so blessed that Jerry is ok that I'm not out working.

My Mom never let us kids off easy. My brother's had to learn to clean house and I had to learn how to mow the grass ( when I was older) I had to watch oil changes and tire changes.. I can change both, but I'll admit I'm happy I don't HAVE to do them.
Jerry was brought up more traditional. Boys mowed every weekend. took out the trash and walked the dog. Girls cleaned the house and did the cooking and dishes. Luckily , when he and I married he realized we were both going to have to do it all, wether we liked it or now. With the kids we shifted the chores around most of the time. Each took out trash, washed dishes. did their own laundry (or, in David's case, he paid his sisters to do it for him) I have to admit I was a bit miffed when I heard from Beth that she was out changing a tire on her car while her S/O was inside playing games on the computer. Not that she can't change a tire. but that he should have at least been out there with her. That was some time ago. but it still rankles that he didn't think enough of her to want to take care of the car for her.

Outside my door ... We started off the day partly cloudy, now it's mostly cloudy. and I think the temperature is dropping a bit as well. I need to walk in the back and see if the wild brush is starting to bud. I know the other day, I saw some Daffodils blooming along the roadway in Danville. I've seen that happen before, In other areas of the country but I don't recall if it was this early in February or not.

The Dogs ... I have been folding up some laundry and I tossed a blanket over Rocky. He's still under it. Barney is in doggy jail, again. He just would not leave Macon alone. He was doing his best to make Macon play with him. I'll have to put the leads together and toss the ball for Barney later this afternoon
The Cats ... are all outside, It's warm enough that they don't want to stay inside for any amount of time at all.

From the kitchen... . We had Taco Bell for dinner. I was hoping that, Jerry would have time to work on the water leak tonight. He worked on it, but he didn't day if I should put the water on the camper or go yet one more day without water.

I am hearing... mid day news. Macon just gave out a huge sigh. or was it Barney? the fan on the heater .

I am wearing... Brown, long sleeved top with brown sweat pants.

I am reading... Exodus 35, another chapter in " 'Patchwork A Story of 'The Plain People' "

Howdy ...

Howdy ...
I wanted to see the Budweiser Commercial with the foal growing into a horse. And I missed it.

I am still without running water. The bond that Jerry used didn't set up like it was suppose to. I don't know what he's going to try next. We will have to take our water jugs up to the office and refill them tonight.
Jerry cashed his check in South Boston, He asked if there was anything I needed him to pick up. Um.. another sergur.. Ok.. Only they didn't have any in stock. That was on Saterday. Sunday, I checked at the Wal-Mart in Danville. They don't have any either but are waiting for some to come in on the truck... This more and more makes me think they Knew they had a bad batch of them. In the meantime, I can still just use my sewing machine to make the clothes I have been buying material for.
Oh. I saw some fabric I wanted for $2 a yard.... but I didn't get any because the cutting table was piled high with " Stuff ".. just boxes of stuff and my feet were hurting already. I can always go back later and get it. I just can't believe that such a mess would be made in the middle of the day. I was thinking of using the stripped material for a skirt (1700's type) and the other for a new top. Of course after i said I wasn't going to get any, I saw some $1 material that I liked, as well... oh well, their loss.
The Dogs ... I picked up three new toys for the dogs, and Barney chewed up two of them. One was a squeeky toy and the other a tennis type ball.
The Cats ... Thought they would fool us and expected us to feed them canned food twice yesterday. I fed them around noon and at 4 pm they thought they were going to get more to eat.

Jan 31

Hello ...  We are still without water in the camper. Jerry didn't even look at it last night. He came home, I got in the van and we went to Mary's for dinner. We have always seen a lot of cars at Mary's. It's served cafatiera style and Jerry has never been a fan of cafatiera's. I had two pieces of fried chicken, mac an cheese (that I gave to Jerry when he finished his food) and a 1/2 order of Lima Beans. I like Lima Beans and Jerry not so much. I picked up a salad where Jerry picked up a dessert. Believe me after I had my salad I didn't want that Mac and Cheese. But we will not be eating there again.  As I said, Jerry is not a fan of Cafatirea's. We got back to the camper. set up our shower bags, and went and got showers. Well, I can say I got wet, turned off the water, soaped up, then rinsed off as quiickly as I could cause the water is still not very warm in the showers. We came back home and almost fell into bed. I don't know if Jerry will work on the water tonight or not. I just tried to call the office to ask if they know the water is not very warm in the showers and got the answering machine. I'll call again later. I know they are trying to conserve on their power bill so they may have shut of the power to the hot water system.

Outside my door ...  It's Sunny but cool and windy.  We got lots of rain last night and the ground is soaked. We needed the rain here and I hope we get more rain just not all at one time.

The Dogs ... are sleeping. Barney in the kennel cause he would not stay out of trouble this morning. If he wasn't picking on Macon it was Rocky. when neither one would play with him he was getting into stuff. After three times of "talking" to him, I just put him in the kennel. He's just like having a toddler around. He can't tell me what he wants and wants to be in the middle of everything.

The Cats ... Tupelo is sleeping on my bed with Rocky. The other two are outside someplace.

From the kitchen... With no running water, I'm not cooking anything.

I am hearing... The TV and the heater fan. Wind in the trees every now and then. A jet once in a while.

I am wearing... Dark Gray Sweatpants and a dark blue top.

I am reading... Exodus 33.

I am hoping...  That Jerry can fix our water problems soon.

I am creating... I worked on that skirt yesterday. A few minor mishaps but nothing I couldn't take care of quickly. I now that the bottom hemmed and the two tiers sewn together. Next is the waist band I think.  Once I get the skirt done, I need to get the dress done.
