Apron

I have finally finished one apron. The pocket is a bit small. I had to hand sew the whole thing cause I didn't have a sewing machine. If you look at the window behind me, you might see the other project I've been working on. Window Jewerly. Strings of glass beads. I put a bell on the lower end of each.

I finally finished my apron. I hand sewed it. I finally found a small sewing machine, when I had the hem about halfway finished. (figures) I used pleats instead of gathering at the waist band so it would "fit" better. The pocket is a bit small, but for now, it's what I want. I could put another pocket on it. I just havn't, yet.

Jerry has to work, tomarrow. We will be eating drive thru, on our way to the local auction. I bet they missed us last week, when Jerry had to work from Noon to Midnight. Only he got off around 8 30. By the time he got home, it was kinda late to go to the auction.

I got most of the house cleaned up today.. all the mop-able floors, got mopped. I watered my flower pot that has poppies in it, and added some moss rose seeds to some smaller pots I've made from cola bottles. I don't have much area to plant any thing in. I hope to have a few pots on the porch. I know this place is shaded all day long.

The Girl Scout Cookies are out !!! We picked up two boxes of thin mints, one of the sugar free chocolate chip and one of tag a longs. I talked with the cookie mom for a few mintues but I had to go int othe store and spend even more money. They will be even closer to home next week, and I hope to walk over, with my backpack, and pick up even more cookies. They are suppose to have 8 different kinds out. but only had 6 kinds when we got to Walmart. I want to pick up the caramel ones for Jerry. He's nuts about Caramel.

If you look really close at my picture above, you will see, behind me, my other project. it's on going.. I'm not sure what to call them, yet.. Window jewerly, Window strings... not sure. It's not a curtain since each can be hung by itself. or clusted with others. I've only the three so far. I hope to make more this weekend.

Rocky has been barking around 2 am, a couple of nights in a row... night before last, he spent in his kennel.. last night he was back on the bed and didn't bark at all. Kelly the cat,, has gotten into his own trouble. Besides going outside without permission (yeah, right.. tell a cat he's not allowed outside) He's taken to getting on top of the night stand in the bedroom.. He knocked my glass jar of coins off, the night Rocky was in his kennel.. and it made a huge noise. At least the jar didn't break. It's a jar I picked up in Vicksburg. cause it's unusual.. It has three sides. I wanted to do some hitching around it, but lost patience with it.

I'm not sure what my next project will be. Either a Chemis or another apron. I have two set up to sew.. I now have that sewing machine to it will go much faster. I will want to do some fancy work on a pocket or two, next time.

Where has the time gone?

It seems it was just a few days ago that I met Jerry.. that our Son was born,, then along came Heather, and just hours later Beth.... David was born in 1979.. He turns 30 this year. . . And I still worry about him.
Does he eat right? Has he found a woman to love him? Will he ever make us grandparents? Is he happy?

And I worry about the Girls as well. Are they happy? Is Heather loved like she should be? Will Beth find someone to cherish her?

I imange my Momma had the same worries about me and my Brothers.

Am I Happy? Yes. Am I loved. Yes. and I cherished, You bet. Jerry is the best. We've had our troubles, but we came through them. Battle scars, a few.. love lines many more of those. He's my quiet Teddy Bear. I go where he goes. He takes care of me. I take care of him.

I still find it hard to believe that David turns 30 this year. I want to do something special for his birthday. I don't have my picture tub with me at this time, or I would make him a scrapbook of his childhood. All his adventures we had. I am going to have to start a coupld of books I guess. Storeis of the kids growning years. I do wish now, I had kept a diary or journal of those years for them. They went by too fast. Kids grow up too fast. "We moved to often". the number of pets, the names of which I know I've forgotten a few.

3 weeks til I do it, again

Thats right, 3 weeks then I have my eye zapped, again. He did say 2 weeks at first. but .. I can't find anyone around here to take me. So Jerry will have to lose a day of work, to take me. He said that he was finished with the left eye. Yet last time I was in, he did the left eye and said it would take at least one more time... so I'm confused, (what else is new, right) He did say he would look in both next time, just to be sure. come to find out, I could have had a numbing shot in the eye... now I'm told. I should have been told last time when he did the left eye... I didn't want the shot.. I could handle it ok.. he did say if it got to be too much we could stop and he could give me the shot anyway... I toughed it out. I "put myself elsewhere" before he got done, and, although I feel a bit brused, it's not any more than last time. If I had the shot I would have had to wear a patch for at least4 hours. I still couldn't see much after wards for a few hours, but I knew that would happen.

Jerry told his supervisor that the next time is in three weeks... I don't know if something will be said or not. last time something was said. Jerry explained that I can't drive.. my licence is expired. (working on that) and even if I could legally drive there, no way could I drive myself back home, or pick him up from work aterwards... It is my eyes he's dealing with.

For a while tonight, I thought Jerry was having to work 12 hours instead of 10 cause he didn't call when he got off work. He had forgotten to take his phone with him. I put together a quick dinner. Pork chops, salad, and bow ties in a sauce. Jerry had to work 8 hours Saturday afternoon/evening. Not sure just why.. even he said there wasn't enough work to have had to go in at that time. He's getting more and more frustrated with this job, and his supervisor.

I did finish my apron I was working on. over the weekend. I had Jerry take a picture of it on me, now I have to find my camera cord to download to my computer. I also made two more window strings of glass beads for the front window. I put more beads on these than what is on the first one.

Beth Usually calls me, after she gets off work, most morning.. this time, she called while on her way home and while we were talking, the hood of the van flew up on her... made her all nervous and uptight... I finished the story I was telling her, to help calm her down. She had to tye the hood down with wire and it had slipped loose. I bet she checkes that wire more often, now. I asked her to take a picture with the damage to the hood with her phone and send it to me... and she didn't do it... it makes me so mad that she won't do something I ask.. I just want to be sure it's still safe. I was going to show it to Jerry so he would know what happened as well.

I brought my treadmill out of the back bedroom into the living room/kitchen area. and Yes, I've walked a little on it. my back still starts to act up when I am up for more that 10 minutes, but not as bad. I hope to be able to walk about a mile on it by the end of ths week.

Rain tomarrow. could be worse, could be snow... On our way to the doctors office we noticed that the grass is starting to green up, already. We are due to have some below freezing weather this week, but only a night or two. with highs in the mid to upper 50's this week. Last weeks 70's sure had me spoiled for that warmer weather. With the rain and all, I think I'll just make a pot of beans and fresh bread for our dinner tomarrow.

Rocky has a couple of friends, now Two-doe and Sassy.. when he's inside, he's looking out a window for them. When he's outside he's looking for them and if he sees them, gives a different sounding bark to let them know he's outside, please come play. It's kinda cute, but a pain as well. I don't really want him outside all the time. He barks at the neighbors who walk up and down the street all day long. I know that they walk to the store at least once a day, and No idea where else they are going but it's often.

Still In Ga

Yes, we are still here in GA. Jerry had the weekend off so we did some much needed running around. but not too much as he has caught a cold. Now, we are waiting to find out about the Shut Down that is suppose to start this next weekend. It may have been put on hold for a week or two due to the accidents on the job the last few weeks. I should know more by the middle of this week.

The weather here is just delightful... I have windows open and doors open. It is in the 70's right now. a bit cloudy, but hey, I get to keep these temps for a while, so whats a few clouds, right?

I have planted some Poppy seeds in a large planter and just when I though they were not going to come up.. up they came. Now I have to be careful watering them for a couple of weeks until they get well started. I'm just not sure how long this weather will last so, unless I can talk Jerry into a couple more huge pots won't be starting any thing else for a bit. (like two to three days) I want to cut the bottoms off of some cola bottles to start some seeds in a window with. I miss houseplants and am looking for some every time we go out.

The birds keep me busy refilling the bird feeder I have hanging outside the front door. Now if I can just convince that next door boy to not shoot any more of the birds, I'll be happy(ier). He's got a pellet gun. We've only found one dead bird so I hope that's all to it. If not, I'll have a talk with his Uncle, Bubba. (yeah, that is how he is known around here)

Bated Breath

Strange title right? We are waiting with bated breath... that sort of thing. Jerry called me early, when he got off work. He calls me each evening, when he's on his way home so I can have dinner on the table when he comes through the door.. anyway.. There was another accident at work today and every one was called off the job. That's 5 recordable injuries in the last 3 weeks. We are waiting to find out if he, and everyone else still havea job tomarrow. If not.. I have no idea what we will be doing the next few days.

It's a nice, but cool morning here in Georgia. We are suppose to have rain today. I'm waiting to hear if General Lee saw his shadow or not. I think it's not. I really need to clean my house today.. I've let it go for the last few days and I don't like it when that happens. I planted some seeds in my large flowerpot this morning. Now I have to keep the kitten out of that room. He is such a clown at times, but he does like digging in my pot.

I know, we are not experencing the cold and wet you up north are having to deal with, but I still don't like having to wear a coat, or the amount of laundry I have to do when Jerry is wearing 4 to 5 different shirts to stay warm with.

Rocky is outside, giving off a little bark. I think he's trying to tell To-doe that he's outside, please come play with me. I told him, if he went out, he's going to be out for a while cause I had just brought him back in not 15 minutes before. I'm not fanning that door all day long.

Musings

I still havn't heard a word from any one in Missouri about my father. Beth left her phone number with people but she's not heard from any one either. Figures.

I did call Heather, if / when we are contacted we may travel together to Missouri for the will reading. She's still looking for a job.

My eye surgury was put off for almost 3 weeks. I tried and tried to call the cab all moring long. He finally answered, after 9 am. and he tried to act like it was my phone.. I was dialing every 3 to 5 minutes. I kept getting the message "The person you are trying to contact is not availble right now, please try your call again later." I was able to set a new appointment. but you know... many doctors now will charge your card if you miss an apointment. I don't know what this man's problem is, if he didn't want to take me, all he had to do was say so.

Jerry was not as mad as I expected him to be. He understands I was trying to call the taxi. It's not my fault he didn't have his phone on, or what ever. He said it was turned on... but the only time I get that message when I call one of my kids is when they have their phone turned off.

Even if I had a valid driver's licence there is no way I can drive back home after each session. My eyes are to blurry for hours afterwards.

I picked up what I thought were curtains for our bedroom.. they are drapes and not wide enough to cover the window. Now I have to put the sheet back on the rod and put it back up. I have plans for that sheet and it is not as a curtain in our bedroom.
