Savor Italian Bread

Savor Italian Bread
"From Our Home to Yours"
Ozark First Church of the Nazarene"
2004
1 Medium Loaf Italian Bread
1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
1/3 cup Mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon dried Basil
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/8 teaspoon dried Organo
1/8 teaspoon Onion Salt
Cut bread in slices, but do not cut through bottom. Place on a baking sheet. Combine Parmesan Cheese, mayo, basil, garlic powder, oregani and onions salt in a small bowl. Spread mixture between slices and on top of bread. Bake at 400F until Golden Brown, about 12 minutes
** Variation** Changes can be made easily to this recipe. Cheese like Mozzarella, Swiss or Chedder can replace the Parmesan. Butter can take the place of the mayo, and isntead of using spterate herbs, you can use italian seasoning mix.

outside the back of the camper this afternoon

Outside the back of the camper. We are parked at the edge of a cliff and below us is the playground. More often than not the deer browse there on their way to get a drink from the lake. Rocky barked, Then Macon but the deer didn't run off so I put both into a kennel so I could try to take a picture of the deer.. Just as I was set to snap a picture the men in the camper below the playground made a lot of noise and the deer ran back into the woods.  I hope to take a picture of them. I counted at least 4 but there may even be 5 in the group.

April Fools' Day

April Fools' Day seems to have begun in France in 1564. Apr 1 used to be New Year's Day but the New Year was changed to Jan 1 that year. People who insisted on celebrating the "old" New Year became known as April fools and it became common to play jokes and tricks on them.

Morning Romp

It's a sunny but cold morning out.  When it's Sunny I try to let the dogs have more than just a few minutes outside, They get to play, explore (potty) and just lay about in the sun if they feel like it. Today is no excepting and the dogs loved having some run time.

Magic Bullet Frozen Fruit Sorbet

I have frozen peaches in the freezer as well as some strawberries. I first tried doing both but I had too many out and my small cup was too full. So I removed the strawberries and added some Pineapple Orange juice to the cup (about1/3 cup) and milled that a couple of times.  shook the cup, milled it again.. shook again then milled a long time. put that in my dish, then did the strawberries the same way, including adding about the same amount of juice to that, as well.  Its a large amount but I love fruit so I'm sure for a late afternoon snack it's going to be just fine.

Howdy....

Howdy....
I wear Green.on St Patrick's Day. This year it was green nail polish. Bailey noticed.. I don't think Jerry had green but she wasn't so sure about pinching him either. Corbin Pinched him, though.
The kids got a kick out of pinching Grandpa.
Since Corbin's Birthday is March 27, We gave him his BD Gifts early. He also got to ride with Grandpa all the time. On Sunday, He got to go with Grandpa while Grandpa paid for our motel from for two nights. He had fun doing that, exploring the room. On Monday, he got to go with Grandpa while Grandpa took care of the tags for the van and camper. The girls in the office loved his hair. He has a Mohawk and his mom set it up in spikes and he sorta looks like Sonic the Hedgehog (Video Game) I'm guessing them made a nice fuss over him and gave him some candy as well. Bailey got to go with Heather and I.
Heather tried to get off from working Monday afternoon/evening from Dollar Genera but on one would come in and work for her. I do hope she remembers that when someone else wants her to change shifts with them over the next couple of weeks. We were under a tornado warning for a while on Monday afternoon to early evening and we were at the store with her until it has passed. There was some rough weather over the mountain from her but we didn't get anything but rain on Monday.
Bailey really enjoyed the Magic Bullet I gave to her (Her first kitchen appliance) and made all the adults smoothies (Granny Dot was staying the night at Heather's) Corbin wasn't feeling well so he didn't have one. Bailey wanted a strawberries smoothie and I showed her how to make that. She made her mom and Orange Julius. When I texted Heather last night, asking if Bailey made anything she said yes, a Strawberry smoothie. Bailey loves strawberries.
We are not really that much further "north" than Dunlap is, but they have more greening going on that we do here. Their fields are all green and the underbrush is also turning green and many of the cottonwoods and dog woods are in bloom. Around here only part of the cottonwoods and dogwoods seem to have a few blooms on them. I don't see many red buds here in the campground but the ones I've seen along the road seem to only have a few blooms and not a full out covered in buds look to them. Even the underbrush around here hasn't started to turn green just yet.
We rented a small storage unit while we were visiting Heather. It;s a 5 by 6 foot for $20 a month. We just wanted to get a few things out of the Van and I know Heather could use some outside of her home storage so she has a key and will keep an eye on it for us, as well. She said she already knows she's going to put her Christmas and Halloween stuff in there. I put a tub of blankets and a couple of Jerry's heavy coats and the small propane heater in there because we don't need them right now. We will have to go back to Tennessee in December, at least because Jerry's Driver's licence will expire on his birthday. I sorted through a tub and pulled out some shorts I had in the tub but most of that one stayed in storage as well.
We Gave Corbin his Birthday gifts while we were visiting. He wanted a Furby. Bailey got one for he birthday and he wanted one, as well. I looked and looked for a gray or white one since that is what he was wanting.. All I could find were purple ones like his sister got from us.. or neon green, or black.. and to me, the black ones just look evil. Bailey had to exchange her Furby and get a black one but it doesn't look evil like the ones on the box look.. anyway.. He got a yellow one and he loves it. They talk to each other.. Corbin has some trouble with some sounds and is going to speech therapy for it.. but the furby don't care. Because I wasn't sure if we would even be able to find a Furby and I saw a fun game for boys on the Internet before we left. The game was to shoot action figures off of stacked solo cups with a Nerf Gun.. and when I saw them with disks instead of the long foam "bullets"... I picked up one for him and some extra disks to go with it, as well. and the whole family had fun shooting things with the disks.. one is outside in the grass somewhere as it went out the door and off the porch (first one shot) and no one could find it. A long time ago. when Bailey for Bailey's second Birthday, I have her a small, sturdy play horse. He was putting his action figures on it's back and shooting at them.. I'll tell you, that poor horse looks very ragged now, but it's still welled loved and Bailey still sits on it. Corbin likes to wrestle with it in the middle of the floor.
While we were at Heather's, Jerry called David to see if he was home or not so we could have a mini family get together.. Nope, he was on the road. Ah well. maybe next time we are in Tennessee he can come see us.
Corbin has Grandpa "Pegged".... Bailey asked her dad for some money so she could try to win a prize out of the claw machine where my mom works. "R" told her, he don't have any money. Corbin was sitting between "R" and Grandpa.. and he held up a hand so Dad wouldn't see and pointed to Grandpa with his other to show Bailey to ask Grandpa for money.. I thought it was sooo cute.
The Dogs ...
Barney got in big time trouble while we were "visiting" at Heathers. He peed on her curtain by the one window he can stand at and look out of, and he tried to pee on Granny once her little dog have been put into the bathroom. Cookie wanted to fight my dogs one at a time or all three at once.. once my dogs were put into kennels in the corner, she ignored them totally. She didn't want them any where near Dotty at all.
The Cats ...
We thought that we may have lost a cat or two when we got home last night. Only one came running when we got in..Tupelo was ready to eat. She can really scarf up a can of cat food fast. She ate two cans of food last night. about 1 1/2 hours later, and Tupelo checking ever corner looking for both her brother and sister, Fuzzy showed up and she also ate two cans of cat food. Strips finally showed up at 10:30, just as I was ready to head to bed, and he got a can of food, as well and some dry food. (It was the last of the canned food I had in side and I didn't want to put on my shoes and get out the other box from the van)
From the kitchen...
This Morning's Breakfast is Oatmeal, with an apple milled with my Magic Bullet and a few Strawberries were milled up, as well, then added a dash of Nutmeg and a couple more of Cinnamon. Sweetened with Splenda and a dash of salt. Cooked on the stove but it can be microwave, as well.

Peanut butter

I am loving my Magic Bullet.  Really.
I have had banana and fruit (Strawberry or frozen mixed berry) every morning. So much easier than struggling to make both Jerry his favorite breakfast and then make my own. This evening though, I thought I would try something else when I started snacking on a hand full of peanuts.  I didn't measure any thing (of course)  I just put a bunch of peanuts in the tall cup of the Bullet, then added some Splenda.  Pulsed the thing a few times, removed it and shook it well. pulsed a few more times. shook it again and did that a few time and I now have the best tasting peanut butter that I've tasted in a long time and I Know it's not full of sugar.  Now, I go on line to check it out and the only difference is others have added a bit of oil to their  peanut butter.. Um.. No thanks. sure it may be just a tiny bit gritty but the best peanut butter we had as kids was just a tiny bit gritty and I loved it.  This so reminds me of coming in from school and making three sandwiches.. one for me and one for each brother, as well.  I got to do it because I was first home from school. I don't recall how it was I always beat my younger brother home but I did more often than not. I was the one with the key around my neck on a shoe string. Yep an original key kid. I got to check the mail each day, as well. That was a job (chore) I loved doing even though I never got any mail.

Candle Holder made from Dollar Store Finds

I was lucky to go to the dollar store last week. I don't get to go very often (I can spend some money in that place every day if I had the chance)
I found the candle sticks and bought 6 of them. Two purple candle holder, two clean holders and two pillar candle chargers.. wouldn't it figure, I can't find the chargers right now. Yesterday, I put the purple candle holders together.
First the goof off. to remove all the stickers and glue, Then Alcohol, in case there was anything of the Goof Off left on the glass. Then I put a bead of E-6000 around the top of the cangle sticks and stuck them to the bottom of the purple candle holders.
let them dry a few hours...
Put in flamless Tealights...

Heather's dress.

I found this material in the bin at Wal-mart, no tag on it. it's about 18 inches wide. I found the ribbon on the shelf to match. Material was 50 cents and the ribbon $1.19 ( if I recall)
close up of the bottom, which is why I got it. Heather's bedroom is all Tinkerbell.
I just love how the ribbon goes with this material
I surged up the back seam... But I had discovered that it's a bit too narrow for her to run in. So, after Hubby wakes up, I'm going to trim off some of the back seam, and single layer surge to have it open in the back so Baby Heather can run in it.

Howdy

Howdy
Jerry didn't work last night, (snowed out) and was back home in time to watch both NCIS shows last night. I ended up in bed only a bit after the second one ended but he stayed up past mid-night. This morning Macon woke Jerry up to go out side. He "NEEDED" to go out. I was woke up when they cam back inside. We ate breakfast at a local cafe over in Kentuck and it was good. We drove around a bit, Just didn't want to go straight back home at all. I asked Jerry how many "Hot Hand" pack did he have left from the bundle we bought this year and he said only a couple are left so I suggested we pick up another bundle of them so we headed over to Wal mart. My Magic Bullet came in yesterday, so while I was at Wal-mark, I picked up a few things to go into the stuff I think I want to make with it. I saw avocado's on sale so I got three of those, some fresh Dill and basil and chopped onion, as well. I wanted some Jalapeno and went over toe the Mexican food area and not only did I find them, I found Barley. I've been looking for Barley for weeks, as well as flax. I still haven't found the flax. I was going down the back aisle when I saw the discounted clothes. I found 3 tops for me at $3 each. I just couldn't resist at that price. One I may only wear with a white T-shirt under it as I am not a huge fan of "wife beaters" (Beth's name for them) But I love how this one is decorated up with flowers. I picked up some pocketed T's for Jerry and a pack of white T's for me to decorate up and wear this summer. It's becoming a habit for me to buy at least one to two packs at the beginning of Spring to buy myself men's T's for the warmer weather.
When we got back home I put away the groceries, took the dogs out, brought in my Magic Bullet and unpacked it (there are two in the box but I only opened one) The other half will have to go back out into the van and I'll give it to then next of our kids that we see. (most likely will be Heather) I made us Chocolate Malted Shakes with it, before Jerry headed back to bed.
We had Salad, boneless pork chops and Alfredo noodles for dinner. Jerry had watermelon for dessert and I have a handful of Jordan Almonds. I have some fresh fruit in the fridge that I may eat before I head to bed, tonight.
I made the beds today and now working on the dishes. I'll be done with those soon and then I can either sew or work on a craft. Not sure just yet which will come first. I picked up another Serger and I want to get it un-packed and checked out. I want to make that new dress for Baby Heather on it since it's really only one seam up the back and then hand sew some ribbons on so it can be tied. I still need to work on skirts and tops for her while she's still small enough to fit into the pattern I have for that top.
