I ended up in the ER yesterday. For the last week I have been having some sinsus problems, or so I though. Well, maybe some but they drain when I sit up and move around a bit.. but this time, things were way different. I had "something" in the back of my throat. A Big something. I tried to cough, it would not go up. I tried to swallow, it would not go down but it gagged me, badly. It then moved up a little and I at least stopped gagging. but it went back down again and the gagging started agian. I tried a sip of water, thinking it's a wad of phelm and that would help move it along. That made things worst. I finally got it up enough I could breath again. All this time, I'm trying to make Jerry's breakfast so he can get to work. Not going to happen. He'd been watching me, wondering what's going on. I told him, your going to have to take me to the ER, I can't get this to move. While getting into the car, my sinuses drained as is normal for me.. but that "thing" is still there, just not as large.. What the Heck? We get there at 5 15. I'm worked through Triage quickly. I'm not in distress, but this is still getting in the way of breathing every now and then. Finally taken back to a bed. and I sit. and sit. Finally, around 6 20 a nurse comes and asks me whats going on. I tell her. Ok. around 7 a Doctor comes in to see me. looks in my mouth and tells me.. You have the classic complaints of Angioedema ofthe Uvula (swelling of that thing that hangs down in the back of the throat) Caused by one of my meds. I'm given some iv meds, and checked in a couple of hours. It's going down, slowly. At least its not gagging me any more. but it's still there. I meet my "New" doctore who will be my primary care doctor, while we are here in Tuscaloosa, but I'm still not his paitent yet. He does know whats going on with me, and says that he sees no reason for me to stay but it's up to the ER Doc if I go home or not. He's glade to meet me and having an appointment on the 14 already is great, a good time for a follow up on this. He remember Seeing Jerry two weeks ago. Mainly because Jerry's meds were not called in until Monday ,after he was seen on Friday. He was told they would be called in on Friday. and he had to make a few phone calls to find out what was going on with that. (Back to me) The ER doc looked in my mouth again and said yes, it's not as swollen, you can go home, take these scripts and stop taking the one med that's causing this. I can not take ACEI any more. Be sure to let any new doctors I have know this. Ok. I'm on Benidril, a steroid and Pepsid. I feel a whole lot better and can say that, for one in the last three weeks, got a good nights sleep.
I don't know about you, but I read my brother's blog a couple times a week. (it's in the list to the side, Old School Alaska) It's one of the ways I can keep up with what goes on in his life. We don't really talk to each other much. He wrote about the 40 Annervery of the Moon Landing. He was at a friends house. My younger brother and I were at our Babysitters house to watch it on thier Color T.V. I remember sitting on the floor as close as I could get to it along with a few other kids that the sitter watched and the parents all behind us on the couch and in chairs. We had a small party going on. One small step for Man, On Giant Step for Mankind. and then the flag was set up. after that, us kids were herded outside to play while the parents visited for a bit. We didnt do that, often. but I was glade they did that day. I was 11 so that made Andy around 7 and almost ready for 1st grade. I think it was the last year we had her for a babysitter. I had outgrown her by then but Andy still needed more watching than either my brother and I could give him. In Summer of that year, after we woke up, I would walk him to the sitters home then go back to our home. I think the walk took me about 1 1/2 hours each day. Mom picked Andy up, on her way home. One of the things I remember best from those days in the spring rocking horse she had. I always have loved horses and I would spend hours on the thing, if allowed to. After about 10 minutes I was told to get off, each time though.
Well, now I have shared what happened yesterday and a memory. Jerry did go in to work for 1/2 a day. Today is a rainy day in Alabama. He can work in rain but not Thunderstorms. We have a chance of those this afternoon. I hope they don't pop up. of if they do, wait until after 5 30. We will do ok, though. either way. I have had the door open today and the windows are all up. I'm afraid this will be the last day for this until after the middle of August, though. We are headed into the hottest part of Summer, now. Even though I don't like to be all hot and sweaty, I'd rather be that than cold.
I love my life. I keep busy with taking care of my Hubby and our pets. I am sure that Life is more than a clean kitchen and empty sink. If you were to visit me, you may find some craft or another 1/2 done on the table. We no longer travel since Hubby has retired, but we still enjoy seeing new places and faces.

July 16th
Jerry is still home. He'll be home the rest of this week. No paycheck next week so I'll have to really stretch the grocies for two weeks. I can hope that he'll be able to handle a full day of work on Monday.
I'm sure he would have gotten rained out today. We are on our third rain storm, now. I had just taken the dogs out in tome to get in before the first one started. At least it will smell much nicer outside the door now. We will have cooler temps for a few days. High's in the mid 80's will be nice. I may even open the windows and let the whole place air out. I try to do that in mid winter as well. Find one nice(er) day or two, and open up for a breeze, to blow through the house. I may even be able to grill outside for a few days as well. If I can, I will grill some stuff ahead so that all I have to do, is reheat for dinner.
Dinner tonight will be salad, and if it works out, grilled chicken over ligunii with Alfredo sauce.
I'll most likely use the Forman grill for the chicken, unless it stops raining by then. The alfredo sauce is in a jar. Salad is easy. I have a couple of small bags of salad still in the fridge. I can get one meal out of one bag. I add a 1/2 tomato to each salad, 1/2 a green pepper and 1/2 a cucumber. I like to add celery to mine, but not to Jerry's since he's not fond of celery. Sometimes I'll add some cheese to the salad as well.

July 15th
Hello. I really don't have much to say right now. I do want to share this blog with you... http://imjustaguywhoquilts.blogspot.com/2009/07/its-july-birthday-giveaway.html
He's giving away some quilting material and other goodies. Drop in and check it out.
Jerry has been home this week. Sunday afternoon, he was putting away his laundry and pulled a muscle in his back. It's been very painful for him. He's one some muscle relaxantents and some pain meds. I can hope that he'll feel up to going to work tomarrow. Because I share my blog with him, I can't post my current project right now. But it's going to be a good one, once I get a chance to work on it. I can't even work on it this week, because Jerry is home and I don't have a way to hide it from him.
Kelly has figured out to come home at night. At least for a few minutes to eat a bite or two, before going back out. He comes to the door in the morning as well, but I don't always hear him, then. He comes in for longer then, and when Jerry is at work, I'll let him stay in for a couple of hours. At least Kelly hasn't pottied in here since he was tossed out. I need to "wash" our front area. Macon does not get the cocept of going to the grass at the back of the campe and as soon as he gets on the gravel, lets go. We "water" it down a couple of times a week to help keep the smell down. Now, how do I break Rocky from sniffing where Macon's peed? or worse yet, tring to drink it? It's really starting to bug me when he's doing that. I have plenty of fresh clean water down for them and I wash the bowl out at least once a day.
I also need to wash off our table we have outside. I'll need it nice and clean an dry so I can cut out a dress I want to make, for me. I may want to make a dress for my Granddaughter later, as well. I'll have to ask her Mom what size is she wearing now. Miss B loves to dress up. She's a Tomboy as well. Very, very much like her mother. Miss B lost her first tooth this week. I have a card to send her, I just need to drop it in the mail, now.

I was asked my favorite MJ song.
I was asked, last week, What was my favorite Michael Jackson song. I could not remember the title, I knew it as the "Free Willy" song. "Will You Be There". is the song. I am only a few years younger than my brother. I read his blog. He was not sure why all the hoopla about MJ. Our taste in music is different. I remember sitting on the floor when he first appeared on the Ed Sulivan show. What a funny looking, skinny kid. I don't remember seeing a black kid before him. I know I may have. but not on the T.V. Then, I saw him a couple years later, on I believe was the Glen Campbell show. or maybe it was Sonny and Cher show. Yes, we watched Yee Haw as well. I am only a year older (and a few months) than him so I kinda grew up with him and watching him. Many times, I didn't notice the color difference, unless it was pointed out. Yes, I also heard his sisters' sing as children. But nothing stood out like that kid on stage, Not even Donny Osmand.
I do go with all this extravanganza that is going on around his death. But I do know his life should be honored. Yes even the bad. Because he had both good and bad in his life just like everyone else.
Do I want Neverland to be a Memorial Park ... no. No more than I think Graceland is a tribute to Elvis Presley. Some one is making money from Graceland, and it isn't him. It would be the same with Neverland. It would Not a tribute, but a way for someone else to make money off his name and fame.

July 5th
It sounded like a mini war was going on last night. We didn't see many sparklies over the tops of the trees, but we heard a lot of noise. Around 9 pm, we took the dogs down the splatzone for a evening romp. They loved it. Kelly the cat, has run off. I opened the door to go in on Thursday and he ran out and would not come back when I called him. After a night out, I figured his tummy would tell him to come back home.. no. He's still out somewhere. I have seen several cats in the area, so maybe he followed one home and is now someone else's pet.
I think our dogs handled the fireworks well. No whining or barking, Rocky did run from window to window trying to look out, only I still have them all covered with windshield covers. Jerry and I tried sitting out for a bit, but he got ate up with misquitos and we gave it up. Jerry grilled up some burgers, 6 were in the package and 4 ended up on the ground when the grill slid on the table. Yep, the dogs ate more burger than the people did.
We did drive around this weekend, looking for the lakes. We found two of them, only to find that there is no free access to them.. got to pay to get into the swim areas. One woudn't even let us drive around because all the camp areas were full. We found Holt lake. and found boat ramps and harbor's but no place for us to go to, no swim area, no small park. We were hoping for an area we could picnic in and take the dogs for a walk. We found two hiking trails but we didn't get out and explore them. We found the dam and lock, but can't get close enough to really see them well. Ever since 9 11- 01 all public access to them was shut off. I use to really enjoy walking out onto the dams and watching boats go through the locks.
This morning we did our usual. Got up later than usual. Sorted out laundry. walked the dogs, Went to Ryan's for breakfast. Washed and dried the laundry. (we need new baskets for the laundry) then came back home, to walk the dogs, again. Been watching the tv ever since. Jerry got hooked on survivor man, and I took a long nap. When I woke up, he was asleep on the couch.. it's too small for him to lay out on, though. The dogs needed another walk, and I obliged them. Dinner was a large salad for me, Ramaem soup for Jerry, and sandwiches. We had a quarter of a watermelon for dessert and I'm full.
Tomarrow will be cleaning day for me. Picking up and cleaning up and putting away. I'll put away the laundry then, when Jerry is at work. It's hard to do much when only one person at a time can be up and moving around.
We did pick up some new canopies. Yes, two of them, buy one get one.. the box says 10x10 but when Jerry put one together, it's more like 7 x 7. We only put up one, and took off the tarp after he finsihed cooking those burgers. Good thing since we had a lot of wind earlier today and some rain. We could use lots more rain, right now. I'll have to figure out a way for me to put the tarp on it, if I want to cook outside, I guess. It's a bit too tall for me to reach standing flat footed on the ground. (don't snicker, Thom, I know I"m short) After we put it up the first time, we took the tarp back off and headed to town, and picked up 8 cinder blocks. the ground here is full of large gravel and we can't get the tent stakes that came with the thing to go very far into the ground. So it's easier to just tye to the blocks than struggle with an iffy at best tent stake.
